NSA Spying What is the NSA? The NSA is the national security agency. The NSA is steadily watching people by satellites for terrorist acts. They also could watch anybody that they wanted too. No body that I know of likes to be watched constantly. I do not feel safe with the NSA being able to watch my every move, because it makes me uncomfortable. Plus, there are several different ways that the government could spy on an individual like tapping into people’s phones, getting into their computers when they are not using them around the world, and also satellite images to see what people are doing. I am against the NSA tapping in on people’s phones. That is an invasion of privacy. I for one …show more content…
like my own privacy, and I especially don’t want anyone else to know my business. What I talk about and who I talk to is my business not anyone else’s. The article by Joshua Brustein says,” President Obama says he will end the U.S. governments practice of mass phone surveillance “as it currently exists,” and eventually get it out of the business of mass storage and data collection.” It also says in the article by Brustein, “It’s clear that the president hasn’t even figured this out.” The NSA is listening on people’s calls and reading peoples messages, I for one do not want them to know my personal life. The NSA can do all they want foreign, but domestically I do not think is a good use for the technology. The NSA can also get into your computers when you are not using them. The NSA has the technology to get into foreigners computer systems to see what they are doing or going to do.
This type of technology can also be used against the United States. “Chinese attackers place similar software in the computer systems of American Companies and industries and also government agencies,” says David E. Sanger. Who says that the NSA could use the same technology to put in our own personal computers at home? It hasn’t been proven that the NSA has done this domestically or have they? I do not want the NSA looking through my computer. Not that I have anything to hide, but I still do not want the see what I have. The article by Sanger also says,” NSA said its actions were not comparable to China’s.” What if they are lying? Again I do not feel comfortable with the NSA keeping track of my every move. They also have the technology to see people in person. I do not want the NSA to be able to see me when I walk out to my truck to get something out in my underwear in the morning. The NSA should not be able to spy on people domestically that clearly are no threat to the world or the U.S. What gives them the right to spy on me? I for one have never been convicted of any crimes nor ever been a threat to anyone. A potential threat of terrorism on the other hand can be watched in jail. They should not even be in the U.S. if they are a threat to us. I do not think that the NSA should be able to spy on people domestically. I for one do not think they should be able to spy on me or anyone whether it’s on their phones, computers, or whether they are watching us from
satellites.
