Ms. Marsha Geddings contacted the Client Assistance Program pertaining to her meeting with her new counselor on Thursday, September 15, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. I reviewed Ms. Geddings’ case and I would like to obtain some additional information from the Lexington Area Office. The Client stated she has some anxiety about her meeting to develop her IPE. I am getting the impression from the case notes that the Area Office Supervisor has and is continuing to address the Client’s concern by reassigning the case to a different counselor. I only have a concern about Ms. Geddings’ willingness to address her anxiety.…

Being hired as a new administrator for Gotham City Medical Center which mainly focus on mental health issues comes with a host of task. The inpatient and outpatient services are housed in separate buildings on the same campus which caused problems by the center during file recording. After an audit conducted by the New York State Office of Mental Heath several findings were highlighted that concerned them. The two primary findings which were patients notes were written once a week which tells me that the therapist did not record any individual notes at all. The second finding was that sign-in sheets were present for those who attended but no notes on their daily progress and visits were recorded in their records. Also patient mental health information was shared with the media which is unethical. As a new administrator, I would be entering into a setting where unethical activities are occurring, overwhelmed staffs and improper handling of patient files. As a new administrator, the findings require attention to develop a system for providing better mental healthcare services.…

The principle of gestalt therapy is the development of the unifying version of the human being that assimilates feelings, thought, senses, social relationships and spirituality, creating a complete experience where the body can speak and words can be comprehended and felt. Cognitive behaviour therapy on the other hand, places a strong prominence on the cognitive mediation of behaviour and the application of erudition principles to convey about change. Cognitive behavioural therapy, based on the concept that learning and thinking play roles in how emotional and behavioural problems develop and how they are…
I wasn’t sure what to expect from Dr. Piper as my faculty advisor. I had Dr. Piper as a professor for my first Argosy Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) course and was excited to meet with him in a nonacademic environment to discuss different aspects of becoming a mental health counselor. We coordinated convenient time and location for both of us to meet. The meeting was very informative and constructive for me. I was able to discuss my educational future and obtain a better understanding of CMHC process and how my tentative Argosy University CMHC educational plan correlated with the future trends of the counseling process.…

In 1952, The American Personnel and Guidance Association was created as an attempt to unite and provide counselors, who were now integrating mental health & vocational counseling, with a professional association (3).
