It was an ordinary day in Spring City, sun was beaming, there was a blue sky, everything was perfect. It was the fifth inning in my softball game, and I was next up to bat, I grabbed my batting gloves quickly pulling them over each one of my fingers, next my helmet sliding it over my hair, which is in a ponytail, and my blue bat with black and gold writing on the steel it's a shiny bat with a loud shlinnng sound . As I arrive to home plate I can see my Mom, Dad, and Brother in the stands, they’re waving at me and giving me a thumbs up they were moving their hands back and forth. Anyways somehow today it was a good habit, there were two strikes on me I could hear my dad saying “Come on Liv you got this!” The bases were loaded, I wasn’t backing down, this was my time to prove that even with two strikes you can do anything. The pitcher winds up, I get ready, the pitcher throws a fastball, and… BAM, I hit the ball, it goes straight past the middle of second base, and shortstop it’s not stopping. As I drop my bat and make a run for it I can see my ball flying through the air! When I round second base I can hear my family screaming “GO HOME!” Next I round third… almost there… I slide and the stands go wild, all the people cheering I couldn't help not to smile. I could see my sister jumping up and down in the dugout, her blond hair was swinging back and forth. Her bright yellow peace sign socks, and her screaming “YEAH LIVI” she paused ran over to me jumped gave me a pat on the back “THAT WAS AWESOME!” she screamed.
Then the game ended and we won it was a score of 12-9. Later as I’m on my way home my family is very proud, and excited for me. I’m happy that I have made this accomplishment at only 10 years old. I don’t know if anyone on the other teams have even gotten a home run or grand slam at such a young age. I can’t wait to tell all my friends and family I will always remember the day when I got my first grand slam.
