Defensive structure fit this description perfectly when I was first learning rugby. I was always use to the football strategy for my whole life but rugby was a different game which required a new frame of mind. I asked my coaches and read about like would do for any problem I ever faced with a sport. This time, it didn’t come so simple and I kept getting it wrong. Frustrated I knew I had to find a different way to learn it which involved practicing it with teammates before and after practice. Soon the defensive structure was an automatic reaction, knowing how and when to go forward made me an asset to the team and more importantly, a better learner. Learning new things can require a different way of thinking. Approaching problems from different angles helped me become a solid rugby player and it will help me become a great nurse. Every day in class and on the job will be filled with endless information to take in. While difficult, rugby taught me that it is possible and requires a different perspective or medium to learn things.
