“We need to turn around!” cried mother. “No we’re only 30 minutes away, and if we turn around now we’re not going to make it!” I insisted.
From the back seat Isabella began to shout, “But he’s our little brother! We can’t just leave him! I don’t understand. He was in the car three hours ago when we left. Where could he be?” CHAPTER ONE: MY LIFE
I had an average family. Well, it depends on your definition of “average” is. I had an eight year old little brother, Victor. He wasn’t a big trouble maker like most boys, but he loved to climb and play. I also have a 13 year old sister, Isabella. She never got into trouble! She had straight A’s; in fact she skipped the sixth grade. She was pretty, was nice to everyone she met, and was really polite and looking out for others. My mom is single. Works a full time job as a doctor at Inova hospital, but still manages to take care of us.
I don’t know much about my dad. He left our family about seven years ago. If you’re smart you can do the math to realize I was nine. I remember he was never home a lot and when he was he was either watching TV or fighting with my mom. He didn’t have a job and my mom always nagged him about getting one, but I could tell that he could care less. He had really short blonde hair and really pretty blue eyes. Before he left he gave us each a little toy. He gave my brother a bear and told him that if he talked to the bear that he could see himself in the future. Gave my sister a ring and said as long as she has the ring, she has him. And he gave me this ball. He said if your life is smooth, then the ball will be round, but if your life gets bumpy, then so will the ball. I eventually gave it to victor because I thought it was lame.
Then there’s me. My name is Lauren. I’m not only the oldest of three but I’m also chaperone to sports, school, and family events. As you probably guessed I’m 16... My sister and I are so different. I’m a straight, yet passing D- student Wood
