National Honor Society Four Pillars
The National Honor Society is a sensational organization made up of exemplary students, and I am very honored to be considered for it. The organization looks for four pillars in an individual: scholarship, character, leadership, and service. In regard to the pillars of character, leadership, and service, I aim to live them out in my daily life. Character is a pillar that automatically catches the attention of anyone in the community. This is also a pillar that I exemplify in my everyday life. Looking back, I have noticed that people, especially at my work where I am a hostess, deeply appreciate when I go out of my way to help them. Regarding work again, I focus on the quality of the customers’ experiences rather than speed. People have told me how much they enjoy my company due to the character and responsibility I possess. Another instance involves my other job, pet-sitting. I pet-sit for a lot of pets in my neighborhood and have earned a good reputation. One of my neighbors told me a couple of days ago that I was a blessing to her. I felt so humbled by her statement. In addition to these examples, I also …show more content…
Leadership can be shown through roles and positions as well as taking charge during everyday activities. People in the community view me as an individual with a lot of leadership skills due to the many positions I have with school and outside of school. I also show my leadership to the community through my work and school. For work, I find out answers to my questions or customers’ questions myself instead of searching for someone to find them for me. I also have learned how to solve problems that involve people. For school, I take charge in group projects, but I do not become too overpowering that I prevent anyone else from doing the project with me.     Last year, part of the group and I went to a leadership conference. The leadership conference also helped me look a leadership in a different way. The speakers taught me what it takes to be a great leader.
