National Parks in the United States are decreasing due to the many conservation rules that people have not been following such as deforestation. Also, many of the other problems are caused due to a limited budget that the government gives the national parks annually which is usually not enough to cover their needs. In total there are currently 59 National Parks in the U.S. and they are at risk to lose their value, history, and relevance. The National Parks are an important component of the environment. Being a dog owner myself, I encourage all city officials to consider the development of dog parks for their residents. The ability to utilize a dog park in my local city has not only allowed my dog to maintain a healthy lifestyle, but it's also allowed me to enjoy the outdoors with my best friend, while creating new friends in the process. I find this type of recreation more enjoyable and healthy for all involved, as opposed to being stuck indoors trying to entertain or please a bored canine. Taking my dogs on regular trips to the dog park allows them to sleep better at night, encourages them behave well in social environments and also helps them maintain their weight and physicial appearance. I couldn't be more of an advocate for these facilities.…

National parks definitely have a big significance in American history that is not even a question. What is questioned is just how important national parks are. People like Wallace Stegner, or Ken Burns believe that national parks are America’s best idea; however, people like Clay Jenkinson, director of The Dakota Institute, or Alan Spears, of High County News, would agree that National parks are indeed not the greatest idea of America. Clay Jenkinson directly said, “National parks are not America’s best idea” (The National Parks; America’s Best Idea). Obviously it is a split issue on just how important the National Parks really are but clearly National Parks is not America’s greatest ide.…

In this article Hardin relates the theory of the "Tragedy of the Commons" to other parts of the environment such as the national parks and pollution. National Parks are open for everyone without limitation such as the "Yosemite Valley". As population grew, the park gets crowded and the enjoyment the visitors previously experienced started to degrade thus devalue the importance and significance of the park itself. Hardin had mentioned several options to treat the park as commons to bring back its value and significance to the people as their national park. To mention one was to keep it public property but allocate the right to enter them which obviously will cause conflict to those taxpayers accessing the park and contributed to its construction. The options Hardin had mentioned needs to be given attention to maintain and protect the National Park from exploitation.…

I believe the local state government has a responsibility to ensure proper management of scarce resources in the sense that they should make sure the state’s natural resources are not depleted and to keep them around so they can continue to thrive like they have done for thousands of years. The government has done a fairly good job with local parks and recreation areas and trying to make sure certain areas are protected, however more needs to be done because once these natural resources are depleted they will likely be gone forever.…
