I grew up in Canada, mostly in Winnipeg. I was a good track and field athlete so got the chance to travel all around the country and the US. I came to Oklahoma for a track and field meets and really like the warm climate. After graduating from high school moved to Oklahoma city for college and completed Master in Sports Management. Moved back to Canada for two years and again came back to Texas to complete my Ph.D.

We have committees to look into these new ideas and we have incorporated many ideas that came from faculties, communities, and students. Establishing childcare facility at the university was one of the ideas I got from the community and we are working on it.
5) Could you describe a few of your toughest challenges?
The challenge we have right now is the budget. We have been reduced significantly on the budget we get from the state. The challenges would be how to continue current staffing, how to support new programs. I try to have a positive approach. I am having a meeting with all the stakeholders. The key here is communication.
6) What do you think about diversity and why it is important?
Diversity is how we get new ideas. We have a diversity committee chaired by a faculty looks into diversity programs. We have diversity events every month. We focus on all kind of diversity and would like to create a home, a place to belong for everyone. We have different races history months where we highlight their contributions. This month is women in leadership. We are striving in gender balance in the workforce. We are almost 50-50 in male and female employees. We have groups for LGBT. As a whole, we would like to make a good place for learning and a place where everyone
