The first thing that I learned was that the attack had been more than ten years in the making, which is quite a long time. I had not known about the truck bombing of the towers. I learned a lot more about Osama Bin Laden than I had known previously. I learned that he was actually very wealthy, and more or less founded the Al Qaeda. As well as how in 1996, Bin Laden wrote a declaration of war with the US.

The amount of people who lost their lives that day, surprised me a whole lot. I had never really understood the evilness and amount of death on that day, and learning about it was almost frightening.
I chose to interview my dad about his experiences of nine eleven.
My dad first heard of the events of nine eleven on nine eleven. He was working at his job when he hear of the events. His first thoughts were, “We’re going to be at war with somebody”. What he remembered most was, going outside and seeing the westboro baptist church protest in downtown topeka holding signs that said, “God Hates America,” and having to hold his friend back from running down the street and beating them. He remembered feeling concerned for my Grandma and Aunt, who had just recently traveled to New York City, fortunately they had just returned the day before. He responded by watching it unfold on TV, he said that no work got done for the rest of that day. My view and my Dad's view of the events of nine eleven are about the same; we both think it was really bad. My Dad remembers it happening and feeling the evilness of that day, were as I watch it happen many years later, but the feeling of hatred still
