(Mom) I was at work at the time the 9/11 attacks were taking place. I will never forget that day and where I was at the time. I don’t think anyone who was old enough to remember it will not know exactly how they heard the news.
2. Mom, how did you find out about he attacks?
(Mom) I remember walking out of my office to go get a cup of coffee and a co-worker came out of his office. He said, “Did you hear a plane just crashed into the twin towers?” I said, “What you’re kidding?" That was the first I heard of the attacks.
Mom, what were your first emotions/feelings when you heard about the attacks?
(Mom) I first thought that it must be a mistake, and if it were true then it must have been one of the small planes or helicopters that fly around the city. Then, we all walked to the conference room to turn on the television. When I saw the tower I was in shock. I could not believe it. I was scared and saddened. When I found out exactly what happened and about the terrorists then I did get mad and upset.

If it can happen in America, it can happen anywhere. Now, every public event that draws large numbers of people have security checks. The really large events are monitored by security bureau’s like the FBI. We no longer feel completely safe in public and some people do not want to attend some events due to fear. America became aware that other countries do not like our way of life to the point they would kill us over it. This makes you think twice about traveling overseas.
