I. General Education Requirements A. “C” or better in ENGL 1158 (1159 for Honors students); “D” ok in ENGL 1157. B. Literature can be any language; writing courses do not count. C. Social Sciences – 6 hours, including 3 hours at 2000+ level. 1. Includes Anthropology, Economics, Geography, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, and Urban Studies. 2. History is NOT Social Science; it is Humanities. D. Humanities – Film, Theater, and Communication Arts, English, Foreign Languages, History, Philosophy, and Women’s and Gender Studies. *A&S courses count as Humanities or Social Sciences. E. IV. GPA Requirements A. Must earn 2.0 in 4 areas: all work, all UNO work, all major work, all UNO major work. 1. DON’T count suspended grades. 2. DO count grades in repeated courses.
V. Graduation Checkout Procedure A. Each student is responsible for notifying the college of his/her intent to graduate no later than the semester prior to his/her final semester. 1. Deadlines – Students must notify the college by September 15th if they plan to graduate in the following spring semester; by February 15th if they plan to graduate in the following summer or fall. 2. Students must notify the college by emailing Charlann Kable, ckable@uno.edu. B. Notifications of intent to graduate will be assigned to the assistant dean or college counselor by last name for a graduation checkout. 1. Last names A-L: Teri Tuller 2. Last names M-Z: Lisa Williams C. Graduation checkouts will be emailed to students. Students must print the checkout and meet with their undergraduate coordinator to review it.
