Staffing shortages, recruiting efforts and retaining nurses is just a beginning of the day to day challenges that nurse managers have to deal with. This role has responsibilities to many people and duties to numerous to count. After this interview my views on management and leadership have not changed. It is easy to recognize that this is a time consuming demanding job. In comparing leadership styles with that of Samantha our leadership styles are similar. She enjoys working with a variety of people from all walks of life. She enjoys her position as a nurse manager and enjoys helping others. She faces challenges with a smile on her face. When dealing with her staff she likes to build meaningful relationships and empower her staff by seeking out their opions and input on things that are happening in the department.
