It is the very nature and difficulty of the job that requires the best levels of communication so that they can deal with some of the most difficult situations. Nurses have to cope with the most extreme situations and deliver nursing care effectively, a large part of this is being able to adapt and communicate on different levels depending on the situation. Some of these are; repeating back to the patient what has just been spoken about, this can be done by using the words that the other person has used and can assist when trying to wrap a conversation in a more structured fashion. On the other hand, by supporting an overview of a conversation and repeating back to the person using my own words, allows for creativity in a conversation.
