Nursing Student Admission Essay Sample
Making a lasting impact and improving the daily lives of individuals has always been an ambition of mine. As a child, I was always engrossed in science predominately human biology and chemistry. From since I can remember I’ve always been fascinated by science. Whether it was finding specimens for my videoscope, attempting to rescue injured baby birds, housing them with self-made birdhouses containing food or using a fisher price Barbie jeep as an ambulance for any wounded friends. The mentality of helping and improving the lives of others has thus resided with me and continues to be my ultimate objective in life.
While in attendance at SUNY Westchester Community College I attended a nursing seminar and learned in depth what a degree in nursing has to offer and about the many specializations. It was at this seminar that my interest in the nursing field increased. Some aspects that I find captivating about a

I also believe my genuine passion to help others in all areas of life and caring, selfless, hardworking, compassionate and detail oriented nature will allow me to excel as a nurse.

While I still have plenty to learn about the nursing field and the profession, I do know that as a nurse, I would continuously learn new concepts, give back to the community, and develop trust with patients, all while fulling my lifelong dream of better the lives of others. Through my time in nursing school, I can assure my hard work, perseverance and genuine passion for the field will help me surmount academically. In addition to excelling academically, I plan to seize every opportunity to gain more experience. I hope to graduate having a broadened and sharpened knowledge of the nursing
