Woodruff Park is a well-known area of the people that frequently roam around downtown Atlanta. Whether it be for work, school, or people who just live around it. What is the purpose of Woodruff Park? When I initially observed the area I believed the area served little to no purpose, except for the people who lived around the park. However, I observed the area with my class for the first time two weeks ago and again two times last week. These three times I observed the area very closely at various times of the day, these observations informed me of the true purpose of the park and has given rise to more questions about the park. Such as the two water fountains that are perfectly butyl right beside the park. The water fountains are quite beautiful and make exquisite sounds that are very soothing. However, the fountains are not the only architecturally pleasing factors that surround the park, there are many beautifully crafted buildings that are around the park and give its own shade, all of these places attract people to the park. I started by standing by the streetcar stop area. There were a five to ten-minute intervals between each street car, I also found out it is a cheaper, safer, and more efficient than both cars and buses, in getting around the downtown area. Even though it blocks the traffic around the park a little its purpose coincides with the people who are too busy and poor to be driving around downtown or taking the Marta buses. This gives you the opportunity to meet new individuals by chance. There are people who want to sell products, art, and ideas to anyone who is interested in it, and if people are not interested they will try their best to make people interested, to the point where they sometimes look like a fool. Another question I had thanks to my professor was," Why do a majority of the people who are around the park don't walk on the grass?". I ended up checking if that was true or just an assumption, so during my second and third observations I walked through the grass and watched to see how many people passed through the grass, and I observed
