Odysseus Movie Analysis

This movie shows a great struggle done by the Odysseus in order to return home after the Trojan War. In the beginning of the movie, his wife, Penelope gives birth to a child, Telemachus. After sometime, the kings, Agamemnon and Menalayer forced him to join the war. This moment was very sentimental and tragic. He thought that he might be killed in the war and therefore Odysseus convinced his wife to marry with another guy if he didn’t come back from the war. It would be very difficult for a single mother to raise her child and to avoid such situation, Odysseus made her wife to take promise that she would marry with someone for the betterment for the child. This part of the movie depicts that there was a strong and deep love between the couples
during that time. Also, it shows the scene where one of the member of the group is attacked by a witch and turned him into a pig. Odysseus was determined to save him and protect him from the witch’s spell. The God’s messenger appears and gave him a plant that would save him from such miserable condition. Finally, Odysseus had to sleep with her to undo the spell. This was only the way to project him and save his life. The tragic moment was when the mother of the Odysseus commits suicide after waiting a long time for her son to return home. This movie was very informative. I came to know that a witch power used to exist at that time and it was very difficult to escape from such spell. This movie focuses on the hardwork of the soldiers who have given their whole life in the war and also shows the unconditional love between the couples and other family members.
