Open cut method
Open Cut: Complete sewer upgrading using the traditional “dig-and-replace” method is perhaps the most common method of upgrading existing sewer systems. It is a relatively simple operation and has very few limitations, but it is quite expensive and highly disruptive in downtown areas. Open cut sewer replacement is commonly performed in areas where the existing sewers are collapsed. This process can be used in pipes of all sizes, and the installation length is unlimited. Flow bypass pumping is required for this operation. Dewatering is required where the groundwater table is above the pipe invert. Backhoe, the ideal equipment for such situation, is used to take care of sewer issues.
A backhoe, also called a rear actor or back actor, is a piece of excavating equipment or digger consisting of a digging bucket on the end of a two-part articulated arm. They are typically mounted on the back of a tractor or front loader. The section of the arm closest to the vehicle is known as the boom, and the section which carries the bucket is known as the dipper or dipper-stick (the terms "boom" and "dipper" having been used previously on steam shovels). The boom is generally attached to the vehicle through a pivot known as the king-post, which allows the arm to slew left and right, usually through a total of around 200 degrees. However, in "360° excavators" it is attached to a turntable, allowing continuous revolution. Modern backhoes are powered by hydraulics.
In my point of view, the traditional method is the most favorable mode of operation in the countryside. As for in downtown areas, traditional method could be a matter of headache at times, it might block the passage way next to your building.

On December,23 2008 a 66 inch water pipe burst in a small town in Maryland. MORE than 150,000 gallon of water flowed through the pipe per minute. The road was left with more than 4 feet of water, rescue crews had to save some motorist and drivers but luckily no one was hurt during all of this. The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission determined the cause of the water burst was that the pipe was over 40 years old and had rotted away. But even though it was over 40 years old it was still relatively young compared to other pipes in the nation some pipes date back to over 100 years. The nation’s infrastructure is a critical component in delivering clean drinking water to house holds all across the country. Bad infrastructure is taking a toll…

A stump grinder is large gas-powered tool that resembles a tractor mower with a large lever protruding out the front. A steel studded disc is mounted on the end of the lever and is used to chip away at the wood, leaving a large hole in the place of the stump. The lever is generally operated with hydraulics and can be moved up and down and side to side. A basic stump grinder rental is usually about the size of a lawn mower, though some models are as large as a truck.…

Hello, as you probably know each quarter I am required to read a book for the course AP Psychology. For this quarter, I chose the book Running With Scissors by Augusten Burroughs. The publisher of the book is St. Martin’s Press in the United States and it was published in the year of 2002. The author of the book is also the subject of the book due to it being a memoir. He is qualified to write this book because he is writing about himself and his own life. He may be biased due to the fact that he is writing about himself. He may try to exaggerate details of his life that he deems positive and he may also try to downplay or even remove the aspects that he believes cast a negative image on to him as a person. The book is a memoir which allows for the author to deeply explore aspects of their life that they may have never looked at in great detail, but it also has the trap of causing the author to alter their life story so that others may think positively of them. A memoir can be a powerful tool, but it can also completely ruin the validity of a story if the author decides to take certain liberties with it.…

The movement from one stage of life to another can happen in many forms, from a child's gentle baptism to a tribal hazing. It can take weeks for the initiation of Savic boys. For the boys to become a true Savic man they need to go through the process of "crocodile cuts." It happens once a year but doesn't happen to only one age group. Boys from as young as 13 to 20-years-old may all go through their tribe's initiation at the same time. All who take part of the process from boyhood to manhood know it's painful; it may cause death. Failure means to forever be a boy child, never to be fully accepted and frowned upon.…
