It's examined how stressful events in someone life can cause individuals to focus on “[their physiological sensations and interpret them as threatening when under stress]”(Wood et al., 2015, pg.481) and then causes a terror. This relates back to panic attacks because panic attacks thrive off the feeling of terror that happens to someone in a situation. The article explains the that people with anxiety disorders are more prone to the idea that everything needs to be perfect and that they as individuals have to be perfect. This can lead to some having high standards for themselves and can lead to someone always feeling unfulfilled of themselves(Wood et al., 2015, pg.482). This supports my argument that losing your job can lead to stress and from those feeling of not being perfect can lead to a panic attack. These arguments were shown in as study that was “[designed to assess cognitive variables associated with anxiety disorders in the general population]”(Wood et al., 2015, pg.483). This study tested the levels of stress in someone and how they related to anxiety disorder sand panic attacks. There finds were that the need to be perfect relates to a high level of stress in which triggers a panic disorder and as well makes people more likely to increase a panic disorder. The study concluded that people with stress were more prone to panic disorder because “[they interpret their bodily sensations as a sign of impending danger or loss of control during a stressful situation]”(Wood et al., 2015, pg.483). This supports that stressful events can lead to some having a panic attack because they believe that they're in a threatening situation. Then the article examines that have anxiety sensitivity can lead to someone having more stress and panic attacks because they are more likely to see more things as threatening than others.
