The boy let the paper leave his hand, and slowly as the paper slowed down, it was almost as if all time took a pause as Daniel noticed the Headline, Turkish on route to Brussels, expected time until capture was 5 days, all citizens are encouraged to evacuate soon!

It has been a good 45 minutes after his encounter with the Paper Boy and he was barely moved, he immediately regretted to tell the boy if he could to tell his Mom where he went.. The next few hours were a blur he only barely remembered himself getting up and beginning to bike, towards Brussels. “I have to do this, I have to help him, my entire my family.” He watched slowly as the signs began to show Brussels in a certain number of miles. He felt a sudden shove as he fell to the pavement and slowly fell asleep. When he

" A red haze filled my mind and I slowly relaxed"(P.67) The switchblade felt cold and foreign in my hand, but I clutched it tightly, desperation driving me forward. I didn't want to hurt anyone, and I didn't want to be part of this senseless violence, but there was no turning back now. I saw the fear in Bob's eyes as the blade sliced through the air, brushing over his throat, making a clean, straight line. Time seemed to slow, each heartbeat reverberating in my ears as the world narrowed down to just me and him.…

Sergeant Joseph, my partner, and I stand, nearly freezing, on the outside of two grand, blue-silk painted double doors. A neighbor of the resident living at this address had rang our office at an unwelcomed hour to alarm us of a “suspicious shriek,” as she called it, coming from this specific household. I could be at the station right now, reviewing over-due reports and snacking on the creamed cherry coated muffins form Ms. Clarisse down at the courthouse. (She always likes to spoil us.) Despite the depressing darkness of the night and ice cube envy of a temperature, old Jo and I figured it to be the responsible thing to do to check out the scene.…

My anxiety flutted around in my chest and gripped each breath like a vice. The daunting and steep steps danced in my mind making the simple task of walking up stairs more difficult than the impossible task to run a mile in a minute. Next, a boy pushed the door open behind him almost as an afterthought, but in my chaotic mind it was the best thing all morning to happen. On the dreadful first day of school, chivalry was not dead, or at least that’s how I was able to comprehend his actions. I glanced around unsurely before starting to slowly walk towards the freshman commons; each eye that meets mine screamed enthusiasm.…
