Paragonimiasis is also known as a lung fluke (flatworm) that infects human’s lungs after eating a contaminated raw or undercooked crab or crawfish. Less often, yet more genuine cases of paragonimiasis happen when the parasite goes to the focal sensory system. Although uncommon, paragonimiasis has been gained in the United States, with various cases reported from the Midwest.
