What are the challenges you will face coming into this position and how will you address those challenges?
This position is much different than the previous professional positions that I have held. Probably the biggest issue that I will face is my experience working with Excel. I feel as though I am very capable of becoming comfortable working in Excel, especially 2013, however, I do need to refresh the skills that I do have. I am more than willing to spend time familiarizing myself with this program, so that I will be more accurate and time conscious.
This position will require attention to detail and working independently. All previous positions that I have held, required a great amount of attention
to detail, which I believe I excelled at. In this position of working independently, I will be expected to perform tasks that are somewhat different in aspects that I faced in my previous positions. I do feel extremely comfortable working independently and I am confident in my ability to prioritize. All previous positions have had a set curriculum for me to follow and I then worked independently to ensure that all of those needs were met.
This position is obviously much different than a classroom setting. It will take time to become familiar with the setting and the day to day operations. I view this as an exciting challenge. I believe that I have great communication skills and I would feel more than comfortable asking the questions needed to resolve my problems. I believe that I am a very fast learner and the day to day operations will be something that I will quickly be accustomed to.
The experience that I have in regards to organization and communication will be vital for me in this position. I do not view those as challenges, more as an opportunity to grow in a different type of work setting.
