Written Assignment: PBJ Crumble Bars

PBJ crumble bars are delicious snacks made of peanut butter that are easy and fun to make!

Preparation time: 30 min.
Cooking time: 30-35 min.
Cooling time: 45 mi.
Total time: 1-¾ hour

You will need: ¾ stick (6 tablespoons) unsalted butter, softened 6 tablespoons of peanut butter ½ cup of packed light brown sugar 1 large egg 1 ½ cups of all-purpose flour ½ teaspoon salt ½ cup grape jelly

Instructions:
1. Begin by getting a large bowl and an electric mixer.
2. Add the butter and peanut butter into the bowl and mix until it is light and fluffy.
3. Include the brown sugar and mix thoroughly.
4. Add an egg and beat until all of the ingredients are combined.
5. At this point, incorporate the flour and salt and mix at a low speed until the mixture forms a dough-like consistency.
6. Next, pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees
7. Place your oven rack in the center of the oven.
8. Choose a baking pan and line it with tin foil.
9. Reserve 1 cup of dough for the topping.
10. Press the remaining dough evenly onto the pan.
11. Now, spread the grape jelly smoothly over the dough.
12. Crumble the 1-½ cups of reserved dough over the jelly.
13. Carefully put the pan into the oven and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden-brown.
14. After the pastry is finished baking, remove it from the oven.
15. Let it cool for about 45 minutes (leave inside of the pan!)
16. After it has cooled, cut the PBJ crumble uniformly into 24 pieces.
