The incline of fast food restaurants, lead as easy gateways for families to get good food in fast periods of time. Between the years of 2005-08, statistics claim that the amount of overweight and obese children rose 3 times the amount compared to claims in 1976-80 (Wexler). Not only do these fast food restaurants pose as a threat to overweight people, it also causes major health problems such as; diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and many more health threatening situations. This leads to asking if the assumption is actually true. Getting children out of their normal classroom setting for even 20 minutes, can get their blood running easier to the brain leaving the child with a faster attention span, and more alert for what will be taught next. Being physically active is just as important to someone's maturation as being mentally active. For example, many people in my classes zone out, and are tired by the middle of the day. If we had the chance to get up after sitting in a classroom for an hour and a half each class, maybe this could help get students to wake up and actually pay attention. Not only would this help keep students healthier and more observant to what is being taught, but by students not being tired, this could help increase national test scores, and also increasing a school’s grade average by so many
