Pearl Harbor Day
The Man I Am Today On December 7, 1941 at 8:00 a.m. the Japanese executed a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor. Pearl Harbor is a very memorable holiday for people throughout the United States, but for me Pearl Harbor Day means so much more. Fifty-six years after that famous day on December 7, 1997 at 8:15 a.m. I was born.
I was 6 pounds 11ounces and 19 inches long as a newborn. I was very healthy as a baby and I am blessed that I didn’t have any complications. As a toddler, I had many great memories and adventures. When I was three years of age I always wanted to be a cowboy. I wanted to go to rodeos and ride bulls and play the part of a cowboy. I loved watching old western movies with my grandpa. So, at my cousins wedding I wore overalls, cowboy boots, a cowboy hat and I even had a little cap shooter to fit the part. As the wedding was happening I was running around shooting my cap shooter and screaming, “Yee Haw!” Even though my cousin’s wedding was a formal wedding, my family calls it a “shotgun” wedding because of me shooting

She always wanted me to stay with her at her house and I went everywhere with her. When I was nine she took me to a circus. I had the privilege of riding an elephant while I was there. At first I was terrified, but once I finally boarded the elephant I lost all fear and realized that it was not necessary to be scared at all. After the ride was finished, we entered the arena and enjoyed the rest of the show. However, one day my mom woulkd not let me stay with her anymore. I was not even allowed to speak to her until I was older. My mom later told me the reason why she would not let me see her. My Aunt Lorena had a son who was the same age of me. He passed away when he was four years old because of a rare kidney disease. We were extremely close to one another that we were like brothers.
