I.Introduction:

A.Attention-Getter: If you could be a part of a community dedicated to providing our country's youth with the best gift anyone can offer, wouldn't you?

B.Necessary Information: Today, I will be talking to you about pediatricians, which are doctors who specialize in caring for children and the youth of our society.

C.Clam: Becoming a pediatrician is a great way to help better the health of children in our community, while at the same time providing a great pay.

Transition: First, I would like to provide you with a basic overview of what being a pediatrician is like.

Transition: Now that I have clarified the path you need to take to become a pediatrician, I will now tell you some of the benefits in choosing to pursue this career.

A.Benefit #1: you have the opportunity to help better the health and quality of life of children.

1.Specific Example: you can help provide young children who are the future of our nation, with vaccinations that could prevent life-threatening diseases such as hepatitis. In addition, the feeling you get knowing that you just prevented a child from catching a fatal illness is irreplaceable (emotional).

B.Benefit #2: Pediatricians have a wide variety of work spaces to choose from.

1.Specific Example: Pediatricians can work in office settings, in hospitals, and some even make home visits.

C.Benefit #3: Being a pediatrician provides a great pay, and your accomplishments in this field are recognized and do not go

They also are people who are considered prestigious and are of high social rank (" physicians and surgeons") (logical).

Transition: there are many benefits to becoming a pediatrician, but, others may think otherwise. Now I will be talking to you about what some of those opposing viewpoints may be and my counter argument to them.

II. Opposing Viewpoints & Counter-Arguments:

A.Opposing Point #1: Becoming a pediatrician takes a lot of hard work and can be very stressful.

1.Counterargument: in the end, it is all worth it because even though we work very hard to get to the place we are at, we gain a sense of accomplishment once having gotten there. In addition, nurses do a lot of the work for the doctors, yet, they get paid
