People During Interview
People Present During Interview: Mrs. Morales and Mr. Verduga were present during the interview. Jennifer would come in and out for the living room throughout the session. They were other members in the house, they were never seen about were heard. Ruth Ipince and Viridiana Ramirez from April’s Child conducted the interview in Spanish. The interview was done the Livingroom. When the interview stated the television was on, Mrs. Morales turn it off. The room was well light and clean.

Reason for Referral/CPS, PS, CS History: Mrs. Morales was referred to April’s Child by Lee Guich from Park School in Ossining (914) 762-5850 ext. 6306. Mrs. Guich stated that Mrs. Morales needs to improve her basic discipline skills. Jennifer has frequent temper tantrums and acts aggressively towards that Mrs. Morales most often with Mr. Verdugo. Mrs. Lee stated that Jennifer does not listen to her parents. Mrs. Morales feels that Jennifer listens to her better than Mr. Verdugo. Mrs. Morales does feel that Jennifer does not obey. Mr. Verdugo says that Jennifer is just acting like the child she is. He feels that the school is being too hard on her. They have never been seen by CPS nor PS cased opened for their family.

Morales was born in Ecuador. She had three younger brothers and two younger sisters. One of her sister’s lives close to her and they have a good relationship. Mrs. Morales’ parents are still in Ecuador. She went to school in Ecuador up to sixth grade. She worked on the fields. Her mother was very strict and would discipline her by yelling and hit her. She claims that she was “daddy’s girl.” Her father would give into her. She met Mr. Verdugo in Ecuador at a party. They had two daughters, Stephanie and Erica. Due to financial reasons, Mr. Verdugo came to America after a few years Mrs. Morales then joined. They left their daughters with Mrs. Morales’
