To begin with, when I see the flag the first thing that comes to my mind is that I am free in the United States of America. I am always happy to be here because every day I know that my friends and family will always be there to make me smile when I am feeling bad, laugh when I’m crying, comfort me when I think I did something bad or something bad happened , and help me everyday when I need help. Having pride in America not only means having satisfaction in America but having pride in our home, schools, families, and friends. It’s a pleasure of having America intact for us to live, having many schools for us to learn, and having many people to meet and become friends with whether it’s teachers, staff, and kids or whether it’s in real life or online. Am also proud to be in America because after we fall we immediately get up like 911 instead of crying for the lost of the twin towers forever they made a memorial to keep it in their history. We pay our pride to America by saying the pledge of allegiance. Our pride is important to everyone and the plag that we see every day reminds us the we all can have pride.

To conclude, the American flag is not only important for me but everybody that lives in America. The american flags represents america the great country we live in and our liberty, freedom, pride, strength, and our happiness. The 13 stripes stand for the 13 colonies, the 50 stars stand for the 50 states, that's what the flag means for its symbols living here is what my life glow more than it has ever been. Some people look at the flag and see a big piece of colored cloth but, when I see the flag I see every ones heart for America and that is what make America

What the United States flag means to me is freedom. I hear the stories of the people who have their whole life chosen for them in different countries. Which sounds absolutely horrifying to me. I enjoy being able to decide my future like what kind of job i'm going to have or what college I’m going to go to. I don’t want that taken away from me.The Flag also ensures me as much safety as possible. What I mean by that is we have so many people who risked their life and are risking their life right now to keep that flag standing. All those people who have died died to ensure that I and everyone else live free and that means the world to me.…

The final aspect of a patriot is pride for their country. This pride is taught in history classrooms all around the United States, in homes of this country’s people, and is held in the hearts of those who truly love “the land of the free and the home of the brave.” Proud patriots range from the sweet, Vietnam veteran who wears his service cap proudly to the little girl who waves her flag on Independence Day. If one is truly proud of their country, it will be evident to those around…

There is much controversy surrounding the idea of patriotism and the iconography of the American flag in today's society. Some believe patriotism is simply the act of supporting the decisions of the leaders of the country. Others say, to be patriotic, people should be outspoken and voice their oppositions to what is going on in the government. Opinions also differ on the idea of what the American flag represents. One opinion of the flags representation is that the flag represents our history, and the formerly mentioned idea of patriotism. Others believe the flag also represents our history as a nation, but these beliefs focus much more heavily on the negative aspects of our history; such as slavery and other injustices carried out by our nation. These people often believe we should find a new iconography for our country's ideas of patriotism. As Barbara Kingsolver states in "And Our Flag Was Still There," "Patriotism seems to be falling to whoever claims it loudest, and we're left struggling to find a definition in a clamor of reaction" (Pg. 1). Therefore, every American's duty is to define patriotism amongst the clamor of reaction, recapture the American flag's representation, and create a new icon for the flag.…

America means a lot of things to me, like freedom, safe, brave, equal, and responsibility. The reason I picked these things is because I think they are all very important to this country. The reason why I picked freedom is because in America, you have the right to do and say whatever you want. For example, the phrase freedom of speech, which means that someone’s right to say something is protected within certain limits. What that means is that someone can say whatever they want, but after you say it, there could be consequences, like someone getting hurt if you yelled “fire” in a place that has a lot of people or if you walked into an airport and yelled “bomb.” You have the right to say that, but if you do, there will be consequences like going to jail or something like that. There is also something called freedom of expression, which means people can behave like they want to and wear what they want to.…
