I can express my opinion on various subjects without the worry of being prosecuted or persecuted. I can speak out for or against my Government. Americans can have as many or as few children as they please, without the government interfering in their lives. The Government does not tell Americans that they may only have 1 or 2 children. Women can vote, show their faces, and speak without fear of being beaten. Women can also work, have money, be single parents and even run for public office. I am proud to be an American because of the constitution of the United States, Bill of Rights and Declaration of Independence. These guarantee me the right of freedom. The same freedom I take for granted every day that I get up. I have the freedom of going to school, even if I don't like it. I don't have to worry about having to drop out because my family can not afford for me to attend school, or buy me clothes so I can go to school. I can go to church on Sunday and worship God in the open. I can share my beliefs with my friends and I don't have to worry about being taken to jail for this. I can read a Bible, and tell anyone and everyone about my favorite books and not worry. I can wake up in the morning knowing that our country is safe and protected because of the help of our military service. I can live in a country where I am not in constant fear of what unpredictable event might happen next. I am proud to be an American for having freedoms that other countries only dream about.
