Personal Narrative: A Space Odyssey
My feelings were overwhelming while I was watching Rouge-1, and climaxed in the last minute. I have been a space oddesy fan since I was a toddler and man first walked on the moon. I first watched Star Wars when I was about 1 0-years old. Only a few years earlier, I watched 2001, a space Odyssey. I thought Star Wars was, much better, not because of the action, but because of the force. All my life I wanted to be 'at one with the force' and have the power to heal, block bullets, and cheat death. In my opinion, I have pretty much achieved that.
The following years would see the story of Star Wars become more personal, and with the new series, near neglect, in my opinion, of the true values of the force. This disappointed me tremendously. However,

My greatest influences are my parents and my brother. My brother suffered from Guillain- Barre Syndrome when he was eight. He lived in the hospital on an artificial ventilation for 97 days and later he had to continue physical therapy for at least ten years as he was completely paralyzed. My parents and my brother devoted their few years completely for his treatment. Today, my brother is a successful engineer working in the bay area. I learned that with dedication, determination and diligence we can achieve our dream in life…

I could never really get into any other genre. However, I really enjoyed watching Rebel Without a Cause. It was a great movie, and I am very happy I had the opportunity to watch it. The acting was phenomenal, the cinematography was before its time, and the script was near perfection. It was a great movie representing both teenagers and the 1950’s and I hope more people from my generation pull this out of the vault and give the good old-timer a…

I have an odd relationship with this film, it entertained me from start to finish, and at no point did it drag or feel grueling. Some might chock that up to good pacing, but I’d chock it up to lots and lots of brainless and inconsequential explosions. Let me be honest with you for a second, I secretly enjoy a lot of films because I know they’re bad, but that doesn’t make them any less enjoyable. This film is going to fit nicely into that collection of films I liked more than my brain tells me I should have. A lot of people are going to…

As the fluorescent lights dim, a tense hush swallows the audience. Yet as the room itself darkens, the vast movie screen brightens in contrast, and the peal of a single trumpet heralds a familiar tune. "It is a period of civil war. Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory," the screen announces. Fans' eyes dart to read this opening of Star Wars: A New Hope, now a pinnacle in the domain of science fiction. Millions applaud its classical texture: the slight taste of fairy tale archetypes that appeals to a variety of audiences. These same paradigms also complement an underlying theme of the trilogy. Within Star Wars: A New Hope and Return of the Jedi, archetypes exist that exemplify the theme that good can triumph over evil through perseverance.…

The film franchise of Star Wars has had an incalculable impact on society and culture. It's paved the way for modern movie trilogies (such as "Lord of the Rings", "The Matrix", et al.), embedded itself into popular culture, and changed the genre of science fiction. The main reason Star Wars is such a pertinent film franchise is due to its omnipresence. In 15 years, Americans will watch the Star Wars saga in narrative sequence (episodes I-VII and onward) because of how prevalent the storyline is in America's society.…

Film has influenced the lives of many people throughout their lives. New movies come out all the time, and old movies still captivate new viewers to this day. Many people who watch a lot of movies can sometimes point out similarities between two or three completely different movies. Some of the most popular movies have a similar underlying story that Joseph Campbell called the monomyth. The hero’s journey is a very popular story that has been tweaked and retold for centuries. It follows a few basic steps that allow the hero to free themselves from the world he/she is currently living in for a world of adventure, and treasure. One of the most popular of these movies is Star Wars IV A New Hope. In this film Luke Skywalker and Han Solo go on a…

“Aren’t you a little short for a storm trooper?” (Lucas New Hope 40). Rings a bell, doesn't it? This is one of the many quotes and a memorable one from Princess Leia in George Lucas’s saga Star Wars. Lucas had created an all American myth and was the first to do it. His movie saga used every archetype known to man and was inspired by the book The Hero with a Thousand Faces by Joseph Campbell. Campbell’s book also had every archetype known to man in it. It affected an innumerable amount of people around the world. Lucas’s Star Wars saga even went further than the big screen by inspiring comics, video games, toys, and other merchandise making Lucas a billionaire. His first three movies he made in the saga are New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of The Jedi. In this Star Wars trilogy, George Lucas illustrates that the hero must be wounded either physically or emotionally to be open to spiritual knowledge and transformation. Leia’s wounds open her to love, Luke’s wounds open him to becoming a Jedi Knight, and Anakin Skywalker’s wounds open him to redemption. These transformations are marked by physical and emotional wounds.…

One of the saddest parts of this whole movie was when Soloman started crying because he had finally saw beef again. It showed how controlling the government had come to be and how little freedom and choices they actually had. Another scene, where Soloman was about to die and was being shown all these clips of nature like they were something special and amazing when in reality they’re typical things we see everyday. This showed me to not take simple things for granted. The last and most disturbing part in this whole movie was finding out what Soylent Green was made of. Even the thought that the government would stoop that low was especially terrifying to…

The movie Star Wars directed by George Lucas is one of the best works ever in the film industry. It made a breakthrough in cinematographic world, and also one of my most favourite sagas that has a lot of issues director wants us to think about, implying his representation of tons of philosophical questions and his opinion or subjective point of view. I picked up the latest part of the famous saga Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith; it is a final part of prequels of the original story, it is actually explains and demonstrates the most important and stressful period of Anakin Skywaker's life, showing the whole situation that made him to decide to turn to the dark side.…

Steven Spielberg? Tom Cruise? Seriously I was not expecting much from this movie, but I was wrong, as it turned out to be a "mature" science fiction movie. I liked how Mr. Spielberg presented 2054 A.D. (Even if He was too optimistic I am afraid...), where "Precogs"…
