Then the boat started to accelerate again and I straightened my legs right as I was out of the water.
I was skiing, the biggest smile went across my face as I looked up to see my grandpa pumping his fist with joy and my grandma had a big smile on her face also. At that point I wasn't even thinking about skiing I was just thinking about how proud I was and how awesome I felt.
From that moment on, every time I do something that takes a little courage I think back to that time when I first got up on skis. That helps get me into that “I can do it” mindset and I keep trying, just like the time when I learned how to ride a dirt bike with a clutch. It took me a bunch of tries but I knew that nobody gets something there first time. The first time I let the clutch go too fast and it jerked forward and shut off because I was supposed slowly let it go while I give it more throttle. It took three, heartful, tries and eventually I got it and now I am used to it and can get it almost everytime now.
Doing something challenging will help you in the long run because if you complete a task or goal that is difficult then you will gain more courage and confidence for the next goal you try to
