We were playing the Panthers and I was positioned at first base when suddenly I heard my coach call my name. He yelled, “ Jenna, how are your pitching lessons going?”
I replied hesitantly, “My pitching coach says I am doing really well, why?” Then I heard my coach yell,
“Umpire.” My heart began pounding waiting to hear what he was going to say, I was so nervous! We were winning fifteen to zero and they couldn't hit any of our starting pitcher’s pitches. I thought about it really hard, then I got this crazy thought in my …show more content…
I knew Madison our pitcher was angry that she was being changed out with me. One part of me was thinking this is awesome, and the other part of me was thinking I felt bad for Madison. I went up to pitch and pitched for one whole inning, and was able to throw 1 STRIKE! I was so excited and nervous I didn’t even think to look at the scoreboard. But when I did we were winning five to fifteen!
In the end, I ended up throwing one strike, which is spectacular for only having one pitching lesson. That night I realized now that I definitely want to be a pitcher one day. And now I practice my pitching three times as hard and I practice almost every day! I used to think it was too late for me to become a pitcher because I was getting such a late start. During this game I learned that it’s never too late to start something you feel passionately about. I absolutely want to keep pitching! So even though I only pitched one strike everything turned out for the
