The viewer is then taken to the middle of a plains region in Mongolia,…
2. The reason why Najaf makes this great leap through time is because when he was describing his school experience’s when he was a boy in Afghanistan, he was disinterested in school ‘’ how could it help me to know of the great oceans of the world, of the continents, of the lands ten thousand miles away that I would never visit?’’When Najaf takes a…
Glub Nub was right in front of us a vicious alien that crashed into earth about a week ago. Wait let me take you to the beginning of the story where it all began. I was a 16 year old kid that liked aliens (weird right), so I was looking up alien sites like area 51 and other places when my mom called and told me my friend liam was here to go outside she said , I said okay as I turned off my computer and ran downstairs. I said hey to Liam as I grabbed my jacket and hopped on my my bike and rode off with Liam. We dropped off our bikes at the corner of my of my block as we started to walk to our favorite field.…
The mind has an unlimited scope for imagination. If one had a hypothetical ticket to any destination of their choice in their hand, they could imagine to go to any place in location, or time, they desired. If I had a ticket to any destination I chose, I’d choose to use the ticket as a round-trip go to the Roanoke Colony that disappeared in the late 1600s. I’d like to witness the event that made the Roanoke Colony disappear without any trace of the perpetrator, and bring back the information to modern day for historians.…
“What do you mean, ‘not the first to have been here’?” demands Maxx, suddenly sure of himself. The lead female reptilian’s spinal plates click together in distaste.…
Change. From the first breath inhaled to the last, we change hundreds, thousands, of millions of times throughout the entirety. These changes may not always be so obvious, whereas others are blaringly distinct. Change is inevitable, especially as the environment, technology, economy, and people develop. Us, human beings, we are flexible, able to adapt and survive. However, as we adapt to these changes, we can not let these changes compromise our beliefs and principles by which we abide and hold close to our hearts.…
What comes to your mind when you hear the word hero? My kind of hero is one that will try as hard as they can even if they know they can’t do anything to help it or make it better. My kind of hero is one that will fight even if it wont get them anywhere. My kind of hero is one that will be selfless when it comes to others. And when I think of a hero I think of a very strong special somebody that will do anything for anyone just to consider there feelings. My kind of hero is my little man Wyatt.…
I can’t seem to wrap my head around how drastically things can change in a short amount of time. It seemed as if I was in El Salvador a few months ago, when in reality it’s been two years. I can still remember every single detail of my trip. From getting coconut water when first arriving to saying goodbye to family before heading to the airport. All I can picture is the beautiful green fields and the little corner shops. I can still hear the sound of kids playing in the streets and the ringing bells of ice cream carts. The image I have of El Salvador is completely different to what it is like now.…
From the beginning of time you digest been taught to be traditional. Go to college, get a job, and move out into your accept place, then get married, start and family and the cycle starts all everywhere again. I could choose the most perfect world for me, I would never want to leave it behind. On the other hand, I’ll be forever grateful even on my death bed, I would still be delighted. But in order to get to my Quality world I must first go through some difficult challenges. I must first graduate from college the rest should go downhill after that. In the meantime, my goal is to focus on my education and avoid any and all distractions.…
An example of my determination is me raising my average from an 82 in freshman year to a 93.4 in junior year. An example of me being adaptable is how I moved many times over the course of my life and dealing with hurricane sandy and was still a successful student. An example of me being hardworking because I am able to manage school and work.…
My experience with failure came with athletics. For my whole life I have always been involved in sports like soccer, tennis, basketball. When I was in the fourth grade I joined a swim team and that was the first and really only sport that I stuck with; swimming came naturally to me, and it was something that I could do year round and I loved every minute of it. However, once I was in high school I stopped swimming and joined my high school’s cross country team. My dad was a runner all throughout high school so I thought it would be a good idea to give the sport my father loved a chance. The cross country team allowed me to grow, and I learned things about myself including that fact that I can’t run. It’s not that I can’t physically run, I have…
This is an informal essay giving readers an insight on my support system as a child. The things that helped me feel safe as a child. Resources in the neighborhood that helped me grow and blossom. Insight on why I may think the way I do. The focus is to analyze me so I can put aside anything that may hinder me as a Social Worker.…
One thing that sets me apart from the other candidates applying to the University of California is my hard work. I have always been smaller than other kids my age. At 15 years old I was 4’ 10’’ and looked like I was eleven years old. Although this was an advantage at the airport, when I would begin to take off my shoes and the TSA Officer would look at me and say, “Don’t worry twelve and under can keep their shoes on.” I was often discredited for my size. Especially because I played volleyball, a sport known for its height. I constantly struggled to make a team I deserved to be on because people would see my height and automatically think I was not capable. Although my height often led me to feel discouraged and angry it eventually taught hard work.…
Learning from mistakes is a key part of life. I myself have had to learn from my mistakes. Over the summer I cut my foot outside. I spent the whole night in the worst hospital, then I got 18 stitches in the bottom of my foot. It also set back my ability to play football. My mistake was going outside without shoes, now I wear my shoes all the time.…
