In our society, the less fortunate are often overlooked. We forget that those that are struggling are humans just like us that share compassion, love, and most importantly, life. Growing up, a common saying that my teachers and peers often told me was to treat others the way you want to be treated. While the meaning behind this idea is
simplistic, many of us still refuse to act on it.
If I have the opportunity to attend SCU, my top priority will be to participate in activities that better the community and truly act on the idea of treating others with respect and dignity. I plan to do this is by attending the student involvement fairs that SCU hosts. Here I will sign up for different clubs and activities that will allow me to not only better the community, but also introduce me to the unique cultures that thrive within Santa Clara.
One of my goals in life will always be to leave this world better than I found it. Whether it be through joining a student run service club to better the community, or work with leadership groups in order to influence others to share my ideas and goals, I know that the SCU will be my catalyst in achieving this goal and all other goals that I will set in my future.
