Personal Narrative-I Joined The Football Team
I joined the football team. Yes a girl joined. The year was 2016, around February, and Robert came around with the sign-up sheet. He was asking a bunch of guys to sign up and tons of them did. He came by me and as he was asking more people, I built up the courage and asked him if those were the football sign-ups he said yes and I grabbed one of the pens and signed. I was excited and nervous. My palms were sweaty and I was staring at the paper. I wrote my name and everyone started asking if i was serious or not. I was, well at least i thought i was. Soon training started we practiced two times a week for 3 hours each day. Practice was hard but was worth trh. I had competition every day. Trying to be better every time. I felt tired and worn …show more content…
The goal post was down at the far end. Its silver color made a bright light shining into our small eyes. We all squinted as the thudding of feet and the chatter grew louder. The boys were on there way to the practice spot, pushing and shoving each other in a playful manner. They were joking around. It was all new to me at the moment. Everyone arrived there by me, I remember thinking about how the season would go and who would give me a hard time out there. As the eleven of us make our way to the opposite end of the field the coaches started yelling for us to hurry. We started to jog out to them. To say i was nervous was an understatement. I felt new and very ready for this next step in my athletic experience. My cleats kicked up the ground as i ran to the other side. We started warm ups soon after, all new kids learned to not mess up pretty quickly! We had to restart drills if we messed up, so most of that time was because we messed up. The team had to do down ups and with dry and hard grass and twigs on the ground it hurt. We had all bled at some point today. The hard grass poked and prodded at us as we did everything. Our helmets were already on and the smooth dark blue/Navy color helmet was fit onto my head. It was heavy and

It was a Saturday and we were playing Van Wert in a regular season basketball game and it was close. It was a Junior varsity game. We were only playing two quarters due to the lack of numbers. The game didn’t count for much but we were giving it our all. Van Wert wasn’t a favorite of ours and we were doing just about anything just to win. The game was intense. The coaches were yelling. The crowd was cheering. The gym exploded with sound coming from all directions. We were equally matched. We trailed for most of the game but we were always very close. As the game was winding down, we were trailing by just a few points. We had the ball. The ball was stolen and we were all sprinting down the court to stop it. I got a hand on the ball from behind…

It all started at ninth street with some friends of mine John and I started recruiting some people to come play football with us. I honestly didn’t know I had a pretty decent arm. I originally was going to start practicing to play wide receiver instead of quarterback. At the time Odell Beckham Jr. ( wide receiver for the New York Giants ) was extremely explosive and dynamic on offense. Seeing him blow up on offense made me want to try out for wide receiver. But somehow John convinced me to play quarterback.…

I would go to the football field and go into the box announcers seat with a crossbow, bottle of water, protein bar, boards and a walkie talkie to respond to the other look outs. I would hide out in the box and since zombies are slow it would take them quite a long time to get to but when they do my look outs will take them out but if some pass by or I lose a person I can shoot them from my perfect view in the box from the field they are on and once all of them have been taken out I will call my crew together announce over the speaker we are safe and then call in on my walkie talkie the helicopter get my crew and head to the white house for our medals of honor for defeating our zombie…

Station Camp was five yards from the end zone when our defense flattened the running back, sending the football to the hands of the tackler. Our defense scored on that play to win the game 26-20 in overtime. The tumultuous crowd became so loud, we couldn't hear each other on the field; but truthfully, we did not need to speak. Who we were spoke so loudly that we did not need to hear each other. Numerous predictions claimed we should have lost that game alongside our already fearful fans. After losing nineteen talented starters in the class above us, an immense void was left to fill by few seniors. So why did we keep playing? The answer is that the visceral integrity ingrained within us would never allow us cease believing in ourselves and let adversity control the outcome of the game.…

My first goal was to complete a 200 pound bench press. I selected this goal because I wanted more power in football. My second goal was to do 75 consecutive push ups. I chose this goal because push ups are a great exercise to increase your bench press. My third goal was to get really cut and lower my body fat percentage. I increase cardio and changed to a healthier diet to achieve this goal. My fourth goal was to weight 150lbs. I chose this goal because having some extra weight will help me on the football field. I tried to make these goals reasonable and with a lot of hard work I was able to achieve 2 of them.…

When summer came I got plenty of scholarship offers from colleges, however a good portion of them just wanted me for my football ability and had horrible learning programs so I instantly threw those away. I finally decided on one and applied to that college. They accepted me and I enrolled. I went to college and played football and did great, but I still had the other half of college to worry about. I wasn't going to think I was going to get to be a pro no matter what so I studied hard to become a Civil engineer. After three years I had the opportunity to become a pro and I accepted it. After spending two years in the minors I got called up. When my first game with the Green Bay Packers came I was nervous, wondering what it would be like. I was a defensive end and I was very good at that position and had learned a lot in the minors but nevertheless I was worried. The game started and the my team lost the toss. Our kicker kicked the ball and the receiver came to my end of the field and him and I were facing each other and all of a sudden I tripped over myself and the Detroit Lions scored a…

In seventh grade I wanted to tryout for volleyball. I was very nervous because I had never played it before. I was super happy when I found out all my friends and I made the team. We had a lot of practices in December to get ready for games in January. I was really nervous for our first game. Our first game was supposed to be right after christmas break ended, but we had a snow day so it was cancelled. I wished it hadn’t been so I could just get it over with, but i was gonna have to wait. We were scheduled for another game later that week. I woke up with a phone ringing and an answering machine saying that school was cancelled due to boiler issues. I sat in bed thinking I had once again gotten lucky and we had no game, I was wrong. We were…

It was the day that most freshmen dread, cuts day. There were many of us trying out for the JV baseball team- more people than there were positions. I could see it, I would be starting catcher on the JV baseball team. I had made it passed the first two weeks of tryouts and I was so confident that I was going to make it. That was, until on that last day of tryouts when the two coaches pulled me out of a drill and told me they wanted to talk to me.…

Soccer was going well until the day before my first scrimmage. I had a dentist appointment before I went to soccer and I was running a tad late. When I got there they were already working on defending drills and everything we normally did after stretches. Instead of doing my stretches I just jumped right in to what everyone else was doing. When it was my turn to defend I put pressure on the ball and when I went to plant my foot to change direction I heard six pops and an instant pain run up my leg. I fell to the ground and landed completely on it and all I could remember was how unbearable the pain was. I eventually became stable with my…
