Personal Narrative: My Drive To North Topsail Beach
At 5:30 A.M. my parents would be up and we would begin our drive to North Topsail beach in North Carolina. I stayed awake all night hoping to sleep in the car during the drive. My cousin Branden was sleeping on the couch while I waited for 5:30 A.M. to arrive. Once 5:30 A.M. rolled around, my dad woke up and said, “ugh it's really early!” My mom, who was right beside him said, “yes, yes it is!” My dad turned around and said, “let's get Dalton up!” Dalton took some time to get up like usual, but finally after we packed up all of our bags, we met up with my uncle Jon and started our two day drive.

The full day of driving really drained the life out of me. We got to the hotel in Mt. Airy, North Carolina, at around 6:30 pm. I got out of

After my dad got the key and we settled into our room, we jumped into the pool until it was time to go to bed. I woke up the next morning and was ready for the final stretch of driving to get to North Topsail beach.

We arrived at our beach house that we would be staying at for the week and looked around. I said, “The view is so awesome!” My uncle walked over and replied, “wow, it really is!” We unpacked our bags and looked at our rooms. After I put my bags away I walked upstairs and my mom asked me, “are you ready to go to Walmart?” I replied, “yes, can I see if Branden wants to

My cousin said, “wow, that’s a big one!” My mom said, “That's huge!” We kept going farther down the beach catching crabs. The next morning, my mom and I went out onto the beach and looked for shells. The morning was the best time because the tide from the previous night brought all the shells up onto the shore. I found an extremely shiny and smooth shell. I showed my mom and she said, “Wow, that is smooth!” I replied, “Yes, I am keeping it!” We continued walking down the beach until we found a jellyfish that washed up on the shore. I looked at it and said, “Wow look, it’s huge!” The jelly fish must have been at least 8 inches in diameter. My mom came to look and said, “Look how clear the body is!” I replied, “You can see its insides!” We continued down the beach to look for more shells.

On the second to last day of vacation my dad and I went to the USS North Carolina battleship. The ship was huge and very interesting. The ship had so many floors and rooms that the sailors lived and worked in. When we got to the kitchen area my dad thought he had heard something and asked, “Did you hear

I fell on the boat ramp laughing my tail off. Finally, we got our boats in the water and started packing them down with our supplies. I have never seen so much supplies for a one day trip. We had to make about five trips to get everyone down there and our supplies on the sandbar which is called Little Sugar Loaf. We had about 13 people on that sandbar we were staying that night. We started out by finding a spot and setting up our tents. It didn't take me that long to set up my tent. I mostly helped other set up their tents and sleeping bags and other supplies. There were about four kids that had to carry wood for the fireplace. While others were setting up the grill and lights for tonight. The sun was so hot I was about ready to get in the cool muddy water. I got my chores done for the tents and my buddies and I went swimming in the…

It was going to be a short ride only about 4 hours altogether through the South Dakota mountains. About an hour into our ride, we reached the mountains and as soon as we did Brody, Eli, Maddy, and I rode our horses to the top of the mountains. When we reached the top of the mountains we got off our horses and looked out over the South Dakota scenery, it was a beautiful view. I have never seen a better view in my life. You could see so far since we were up so high in the air and when we looked down at Tommy and Cassie they looked like ants. After we took a few pictures we headed back down to Tommy and Cassie. We went a little further after we got down from the mountain and then we turned back and headed towards camp. We arrived back at camp we washed, fed, and watered the horses. When we were done with that stuff we made a fire and started carving on sticks for a competition we were having and then at about 11 we went to…

The real story is about a seashell. I picked up a seashell by the edge of the waters, i.e. ‘by the sea shore’. The picnic was actually a business meeting in disguise but I felt it would be ‘’unnatural’’ to come to the beach and not get my feet wet. Literally. So when it drew near to the time for us to leave, I took a walk to the waters.…
