Personal Narrative: My Experience As An English Writer

Everyday people learn how to be a better English writer and it is successful because mostly everyone in the United States speaks English. In my experience, I’m learning how to become a better English writer everyday by reading books and writing essays. I’ve taken English 60A, English 60B, and now I’m taking English 50. Writing essays and reading article’s in English 50 helps me to become a stronger writer. In my portfolio I am going to edit my best essay that I did in class and I am also going to revise my biggest challenged essay. Although I use speak and write in English everyday in the world, I am still learning how to become a better writer. My experience as a writer in English has grown since the first day in English by learning to use sources in an essay, how to cite properly, to write 650-1000 word essays, and to critique my classmates work. One reason why I improved as a writer is because I read different articles and I use them as my sources in my essay. Using articles help make an essay better because it will support an argument in an essay. In English 50, I learned that there are several articles that I can choose from that can support my essay. When I first joined the class I didn’t know anyone, but after a few weeks of doing peer review I meet a lot of people in class. Doing peer review is helpful because my group will make changes on my essay and they help make my essay stronger by recommending what to do on the essay.
