It seems scary until it happens

“It seems scary until it happens.” I learned that lesson when I went from elementary to middle school. I knew it would be different, but I didn't know what it was going to be like. I have only been inside like one time before i actually started middle school anyways. I was pretty nervous.

On the first day of school, my mom woke me up by turning on my light and said “first day of school! Wake up! I then went downstairs and quickly ate breakfast. Then I raced upstairs to my room to get dressed, followed by brushing my teeth. All I could think about was that it's my first day of middle school. The more and more I thought about it, the more butterflies I could feel in my stomach. Before I left, I brushed my dark, straightened hair, and said “bye mom, love you.”
“Bye sweetie, have a good first

Everyone grabbed their backpacks and stood up to go out the bus door. As I step foot on the concrete, my legs felt like noodles. I go through the door with my friends in front of me, and we sat down in the commons with all the other 6th graders. Everyone was looking around at each other. Our first day of middle school had finally began.

My first thought was that it was way different then I thought it was. Way easier than I thought it would be. I walked to my classes with my friend who also had the same classes as me. It was so fun trying to figure out where everything is. It only took me a few days to get used to everything.

In conclusion, middle school was different than i thought it would be. It's simple and way better than elementary school in my opinion. I thought it would be really hard, but that was all in my head. Middle school is easy to get used to, especially if you have a friend with you. It can be scary at first, but it's easy to get used to. Middle school has taught me how to be more responsible, how to be on time, and how important your grades

I'm six years old, and I'm secretly watching the girls in my class loudly chatting in the corner of the classroom. It's 2008, and I'm quietly sitting on my desk, wondering to myself: "Am I not important enough for a simple goodbye?". I nervously shift on the chair, impatiently waiting for the minutes to tick by. My red sweater is itching against my throat. The teacher came in and we begin class as usual. Ms. Claudia is talking about our final reflections…

I dreaded the alarm that woke me up at 6:30 in the morning. It was as loud as a screaming toddler that could be heard for miles. I groggily got out of bed and got ready for my first day of school. It was a weird feeling not putting on a uniform like I had been for the past nine years, but I also enjoyed that freedom. The nervousness became more and more intense as I could closer and closer to campus. When we arrived, I got out of the car, and watched my dad drive off to go take my younger sister to school. There was no going back now; I had no other choice than to walk through those doors. I felt like my throat was in my stomach. I noticed some familiar faces, and I walked towards them. While I was approaching my friends, a senior, facing toward me, walked passed. He must have been at least six feet tall, which was incredibly intimidating for me at just over five feet. I was not used to the fact that I’d potentially have classes with these giants. Additionally, the array of new teachers, and having to learn all of their teaching styles and things they did or did not tolerate was hard in…

Crisp, golden light creeped out from behind my curtains into my bedroom on a cool Fall morning, rising me up from my sleep. Once I had gotten myself dressed, I shuffled downstairs to my kitchen and poured myself some life cereal and milk. As soon as I had finished the rest of my daily routine that got me ready for school, my mom drove me and my sister off to Finley Farms, which was the school we attended. The school day went by as usual and slinked away, but after a few subjects my class, along with the other 5th graders, were led by our teachers downstairs to a room where we were greeted by a woman who told us she was Mrs.Sopeland. The fifth graders all sat down in a semi-circle formation and waited for the rest of the 5th grade classes.…

Through all of the chaos, we made it to our stop, which happened to be the gym. We were all ushered into the bleachers so we could get briefed on our next 3 years in middle school. We all gladly took our seats and let the show begin. It was all a blur of boring and useless information. Now I wished I had listened to what they said, but oh well. When it was over we were removed from the gym and were told to go to our first core class. Getting there was very difficult. The rest of the day was filled with teachers telling us their expectations for the rest of the year, as well as boring information about…

The main reason why I was so nervous is because the school I was coming from was very small and private. I went to Our Lady of Grace from kindergarten to eighth grade. The student body there was around two hundred and fifty at the time. There was only one teacher and class of about thirty students for every grade. There wasn’t a student or teacher that I didn’t know by name and because I had been going there since I was five years old, I really didn’t know any other way.…
