about to go off the deep end. Jasie and I sat together in that class period, and I was so nervous, she was just about to scream at me to calm me down. We sat there and worked on our assignments, that class period felt like the longest class period I have ever experienced. Then the call came over the intercom, ”Please dismiss the junior high cheerleaders at this time.” Macy and I walked into the locker room together, so we could put our bows in, and touch-up our makeup.
Then, we went onto the basketball court to stretch. As the students filed in one by one, we got into formation and ran over the cheers and the dance. My class, which was the seventh grade, made sure to sit on the front row to cheer Macy and I on. My squad started to get into formation, then I knew it was about to get real. We started out with the cheer “We’re Here’, then went into “It’s Great (Gracie’s Cheer).” Then we started chanting “DJH All the Way” which meant for us to get into our dance formation. I was inexplicably nervous, but I made sure not to let that show. We made it through the dance with ease, then it was time to introduce the boys. Mrs. Quinn told us that every time that they called a football boys name out, two of us had to go out and do a jump or tumbling pass. There were a few more things to do though. We went and gave some gifts to the ninth grade boys and then I was about over, then we realized we didn’t even do our class battle cries. We had each grade do that, then we closed to the band playing our alma mater. Mrs. Quinn made us go out there and pick up the candy wrappers that the boys left, but Perri and I were the only ones that actually did. Afterwards, we all took pictures together, and then it was time to go home and get ready for the
game. I would have to say, that that was the best day of school for me. As the first pep rally is rapidly approaching us, I am happy to say, I will be a part of it as a second year Junior High cheerleader. That first pep rally, will be one I will never forget. That was my favorite day of school, what is yours?
