Personal Narrative: My Interview With A Nurse
I’ve always wanted to enter a program that includes helping other people and that involves medicine. One of my best friends is currently in the nursing program at Vanier and I have decided to interview her for this Homework.
According to her, she has been in the nursing program for a year and a half now. While she was applying for the program, the college asked her for a letter of intent which is a letter that describe the reason she applied for the program. My friend explained to me that the reason why she chose nursing is because she was really interested in helping other people that are ill and the salary of a nurse is high. She mentioned that the program comes with a lot of paperwork and to be able to accomplish that paperwork you’ll have to limit your social time, family time and free time. Nursing requires a lot of time since it’s a program that demands focus.

She is able to work with medicine and help the sick people while she’s in clinical. Clinical isn’t only a ‘’job’’, according to her it is still a class since they’re still learning while working. furthermore, my friend doesn’t want to start working at a hospital once she’s done with the program, but she is planning on attending university.
As much as I like nursing, I believe that I am not sure if I am capable of handling stacks of paperwork. Nursing isn’t my first choice but dental hygiene is. Both requires the same amount of study time and focus. My mind is still open to other program than the two that I’ve mentioned. I’m not sure about what I want to do yet in

Becoming a Registered Nurse is considered a grueling process by most people who go through it, whether it is through the Diploma, Associates or Baccalaureate program. The Diploma program has almost been completely phased out as an acceptable program, leaving the Associates and Bachelor programs in play. The Associates Degree in Nursing is usually a 2year program obtained in community colleges, whereas the Bachelor of Science in Nursing is a 4year course done in undergrad colleges. Some of the attraction factors to the ADN over the BSN have included the tuition being cheaper, having fewer prerequisites and finishing the course in less time. Things are however, beginning to change, as the standards of healthcare are becoming more advanced. This is because BSN educated nurses generally exhibit more competence in their practice than those with an ADN education.…

The Bachelor of Science (BSN) in nursing typically takes a person four years to complete at a state college or university. The expense of a four-year degree is costly for some who are trying to be sparing with their college education. The BSN requires the ability to think logically and critically in patient care settings. The curriculum places emphasis on leadership and management in the nursing setting. Also it broadens the knowledge of patho-physiology of diseases, deals more with public issues and refines to a deeper assessment of nursing skills. One of the many benefits of having a BSN allows one to gain more experience and more responsibility. Also, allowing one to further their education in nursing by obtaining a master’s degree, nurse anesthetist, and nurse practitioner. The BSN also allows for a salary…

Being in the medical field for the past ten years, I have seen the growth and changes in the medical field. When I began my nursing career as a medical assistant, I noticed many other nurses continuing their education to be able to have greater hands on approach in nursing. That is why I am continuing on with my education in hopes to one day receive my Master’s degree in Nursing and be able to utilize the knowledge and skills that I build, to educate patients. I still…

As I got out of my car and started walking to the front door, all I could do was admire this beautiful building that resembled a ranch-style home. When I walked through the front door, the smell of mashed potatoes, baked chicken breast, and wheat rolls filled my nose; it was as if I was walking into my own grandma’s house. In front of me there was a group of people; some in wheelchairs, some using walkers, and others on the couch shouting out answers to the latest crossword puzzles. Walking through these doors brought me to the realization that I was soon going to learn everything about each one of these people. This included how to specially care for and assist them with their everyday needs in this place that they call their home. I did not…

I did not have a role model growing up and I want to be the person my daughter looks up to in her life. There are many health care jobs that will get me some insight on being a registered nurse.
