Personal Narrative: My Love For Soccer
My passion is soccer which I have played soccer since I was 5. I was put in soccer because my mom and my dad were athletic and played many sports as a child. I was very active always running around so soccer was a good way to get my energy out. As I got older, I continued to play because I found it fun and it was nice to meet new people but I never truly felt the love for soccer until I was eight. I was on a team called, Too Hot to Handle with Coach Kakimoto.
On Too Hot to Handle, I had many friends and there were some really good soccer players on it. Duringing one of our games, everyone was all bunched together fighting for the ball but, I stayed out of it calling for the ball. My teammate Ivy got the ball and kicked it out to me and I took off running on a breakaway. All the parents were screaming cheering me on as I ran. Once I was close enough to the goal I shot and scored. Everyone was cheering and my teammate can and gave me hugs. I was so happy in that moment I felt like I could do anything and that's when I truly found the love for soccer.

It had been a long and tough game. The sun was beating down on us and we were all tired when all of a sudden the game’s time limit ran out. We were all tense because no one knew the score. The ref said that the game was tied. We all exhaled. We hadn't even realized we were holding our breaths. That meant we all had to do PKs (Penalty kicks) until one team won.…

When I was ten years old I tried out for my local travel soccer team. I did not expect to make it, but by some stroke of luck I did. I started playing and it was not what I was expecting. In the past I averaged a hat trick every game, but travel soccer was a lot different. I started playing defense, but that might be an overstatement, because I did not get a whole lot of minutes. I knew that if I wanted to play more I was going to have to put in more work outside of practice. I started practicing everyday switching from running, to foot skills, to agility training. I probably spent more time complaining about it and there were a few time that my parents had to push me to practice, but I knew that I had to put in the work.…

Ever since kicking my first soccer ball during Kinder Kicks, soccer has become a fundamental aspect of my life. Not only have I been playing the sport since then, but the sport has also influenced me beyond solely playing it. It is the culture surrounding the game as well. It is waking up early every Saturday morning to watch the Liverpool game, or getting ready to cheer on the New England Revolution in Gillette Stadium in the evenings. Soccer has been embedded everywhere in my life, from the posters on my bedroom walls to the jerseys that continue to accumulate on my closet floor. This passion has driven me to share the sport with as many as I can. With the Natick Soccer Organization, I have been organizing tournaments for U10 and U14 boys…

Soccer, the sport I started playing when I was four years old. After almost 14 years of playing the sport I loved, we were playing Ocala Vanguard in the District tournament for my high school soccer team, Leesburg; if we lost it would be game over for me and my 15 other senior teammates. We knew we had to play strong just to have a chance against them, and oh what a game it was.…

It all started at ninth street with some friends of mine John and I started recruiting some people to come play football with us. I honestly didn’t know I had a pretty decent arm. I originally was going to start practicing to play wide receiver instead of quarterback. At the time Odell Beckham Jr. ( wide receiver for the New York Giants ) was extremely explosive and dynamic on offense. Seeing him blow up on offense made me want to try out for wide receiver. But somehow John convinced me to play quarterback.…

I increase cardio and changed to a healthier diet to achieve this goal. My fourth goal was to weight 150lbs. I chose this goal because having some extra weight will help me on the football field.
