Personal Narrative: My Trip To Hawaii
One day me (Rakan Alshinibr) and my dad (Fahad Alshinibr) decided to go to Hawaii. He said instead of flying there, why not just sail there? We both agreed on that decision and we asked my mom if she wanted to come. She declined and I asked my dad if i could bring some friends with me if they got permission from their parents and he agreed.

So I called my best friends Jenny Kunis and Sam Cruize and asked them if they could come with permission from their parents and they said yes. My dad talked to their parents and told them about our trip and they agreed. So everybody was excited about this trip and couldn’t wait. We packed our stuff and were ready to go. We used our old boat that we had for that trip to the lake and got more fuel and a little bit of extra food.

We headed off using a compass for navigation and a radio for entertainment and weather. We had a microwave in the boat so that meant that we had a lot of ramen and frozen food. For the drinks we had all types of sodas, milk, and water. So we had a lot of fun since we were in the ocean and we had the chance to go swimming and

Just moments later we saw that other dragon behind us. He was a little bit bigger and faster than us. But ours was a skilled flyer. He went down to the forest and kept moving around and dodging the trees. We were going so fast that the other dragon kept hitting trees and couldn’t go anymore. We noticed that and Zed called his friends to deal with that dragon. After they were done he offered us a ride back home and we agreed. So in the end we went back home with dragons… how cool is that? He thanked us for saving the island from that dragon because if he didn't die he would have destroyed everything since he was much stronger than all of the dragons together. Zed and his friends went back to the island. Eventually we were back at home and with a story that nobody else could

It's hard to not know anything about me because I'm pretty much an open book. But if I had to think of something that most people wouldn't know about me it would be that I was born and raised in Hilo. All my life I lived in Hilo up until my freshman year when I moved to Kona. Right now I'm currently a senior attending Konawaena High School. With that being said, I lived on the Kona side for about 4 years now. The main reason for me moving to this side was because both my parents have jobs out here. My dad, being a manager had already been working out on this side as well as on the Hilo side. My mom on the other hand, got a job promotion that had to be taken in Kona.…

Several months ago, when High Island was going through a confusing stage. I sent my resume to Anahuac. The principal called me on Monday and wanted to meet with me today. I specifically told them that I was under contract with High Island. However, they offered me the job and wanted me to discuss the situation with you. I told them that I would meet with Mr. Gubbs on Monday and let them know as soon as possible.…

Back when I was a littlun, my daddy worked in the meat factory and mama stayed at home cleaning the house and making me my dinner. My parents wanted me to be a smarty, so they made me go to school. They also said I was a good singer, so I decided to join the boys choir. Me and my best bud Charles would go down to the river to skip rocks, but sometimes we would go play chicken on the railroad tracks. Sometimes daddy would say “Stephen, wanna come a huntin with me?” and I would tag along behind him while he hunted for pheasant. I never really listened to daddy’s rules, so he decided to send me off to some fancy boarding school. It was at this point in my life where everything started taking a turn for the worst.…

I have spent days in the Hawaiian Islands educating Hawaiians about Christianity and it is no vacation. I have grown taller from when you have last seen me, but I do look very different. My hair is now a light brown from the exposure of the scorching sun, my body has become frail and scrawny from the lack of food and nutrients on my journey, and my attitude towards events has changed and I am more aware and sensitive to my peers aboard the ship. I have suffered sea sickness and have witnessed many deaths while sailing to the island, either from the lack of food or health. Here in the Hawaiian islands isn’t all that bad though. I have met many friendly Hawaiians and we are slowly starting to understand each other. However, aside from the welcoming Hawaiians, the scenery is something that is a once in a lifetime opportunity, I could have spent my whole day here with my hands and feet engulfed into the grainy sand while watching the sparkling, blue…

Born in Honolulu ,Hawaii on the island of Oahu, I lived there for two and a half years. At almost three years old I moved to a small town in the San Joaquin Valley; Hanford, California. I've grown up in a nice home in a well located area in Hanford. But growing up in Hanford I know only what I have seen here and learned about from inside the community. I didn't know much about Hawaii besides being born there and that my grandparents live there. But years later in the summer of 2014, I took a trip to back to the islands of Hawaii.…

I am sure it happened as easily as this: We were sitting around the garage shooting the bull during a cold winter snap. Thoughts turned to motorcycle rides and things spring and summer. For once, it wasn’t me. Mrs. K was the one to mention going to California. We hadn’t taken a trip the summer before, and she said, “We ought to ride to California and take the PCH along the coast.” Probably, no one jumped up and started packing, but several certainly starting thinking. One mention leads to another mention which leads to final plans. For me, it was a dream I have had since I watched Then Came Bronson and spent my time reading On the Road. For all of us, we researched the trip and found places and things…

One morning a long time ago, my mom woke me up early. “It’s time to go,” she said. Go, go where I asked? “Today, we are moving to Florida,” she said. My big brown eyes began to fill up with hot salty tears. I don’t want to go, I said over and over again. You and your sibling are going to be moving to Florida with me. Again, I cried aloud, I don’t want to go. Who will take care of me? Where will I sleep? And what will I eat and drink? Consequently, all of my pleas for mercy to reside longer with my daddy was ignored, and apparently fell on deaf ears.…

It was 2009 and I had been in sixth grade for a couple of months. I was on the phone with one of my friends from school when my mom called through my door for me to come out into the living room. I ignored her and kept talking for a few minutes when she called me out again. I rolled my eyes and told my friend I would call her right back. I walked into the living room and it seemed odd to me that both my sisters and dad were all out there too. I watched my mom take a deep breath with my dad by her side. As she began to speak her voice shook and gloss covered her eyes. “The doctors found a lump in my last mammogram.” she said. “It came back as cancer. I’m going to have to get treatment but I’m going to be okay.” No one else said a word, we all…
