Challenging myself to take Ap courses and volunteer at senior living I intend to have a high grade point average and attend a great college. My long term goal is to get accepted to a nice college, major in Biology, go to medical school, leading on to my career of an Orthopaedic Surgeon. I have study every night to maintain a high grade point average and challenging myself with AP and honors courses. I have also talk with college professor on college visits about what to expect and how to get to where I want.…
I walked into the doors of Statehouse Expo Center, my feet walking with the sound of my bag rolling over the little cracks on the light floor tile, my white uniform as crisp as a fall breeze. With every step further, I could see more people. Lots more people. The mats filled with people. People who spend their whole lives working to be where they are, on those mats. Sparring, combat, weapons and forms. XMA in one corner, Black Belts in another corner, everyone else in a corner and staging in a corner. All surrounded by a Sr. Master or the occasional Master. When we get to a tournament, our team always meets up. Then all the kids go explore. We found our team and all the kids put away their IPads and Kindle Fires.…
I grew up in Titusville FL, a small town know for being the perfect viewing spot to watch the space shuttles launch from Cape Canaveral. The town was so small I could walk from one end to the other with in an hour. My favorite thing to do was to walk to a nearby lake and relax with with my friends, we would fish and climbed tree for…
If I had harnessed the ability to travel through time, I would choose to experience 1960’s Washington D.C.. The city was struck with such large amounts of heartbreak, but at the same time, many people had more courage than they’ve ever had. I would spend the first couple of hours exploring the riots on the roads, the segregation present in the shops, and just how people felt in this time.…
I remember the day vividly: the sizzling of food frying, children yelling, my tears running, it was the first time I adventured to Six Flags. The uneasiness of my stomach while swaying tens of feet from the ground on the Texas Giant petrified the adventurous spirit out of me. However, I did not realize that moment `would shape the next eight years of life, emerging in my memory at every unfamiliar experience I faced. It was my senior year when I declined an invitation to go camping with my friends an epiphany struck me. How many of these opportunities was I going to skip out on due to my reluctant manner?…
On our trip to Cedar Glen, I learned numerous things that will benefit me in the future and assist me in making crucial decisions. One of the things I learned is group dynamics and working with other people. My group participated in various activities, such as logs and marshmallows, which taught us that we shouldn’t just focus on ourselves when completing a task, but also everybody in our group. In both logs and marshmallows, our group made sure each person reached the other side instead of just themselves, which the reason why we accomplished the activity is that we worked together as a team. I also learned that in a group, there could be people who lead a task, maintain a group, or focus on themselves. In low ropes and high ropes, we learned…
It was just a boring day in my hometown, a traditional, weak entrance a lot of narrative stories use to try to get the attention of the readers. This story, however, isn’t one of those traditional stories; this one involves a day that had been exciting up to that point already. The memory that resonates daily throughout my mind would have to be the time when I went to Six Flags for the first time in my life. Before I jump into my story, I should tell you my friends mess with each other a lot, almost to the point where we get into fights with each other.…
As I mentioned earlier I attended CNA Travel School which placed me in a simulated hospital setting. This class allowed me to gain basic medical terminology, Anatomy, and hands on experience with medical equipment such as vital sign . In addition with this class I will obtain clinical experience by volunteering at my local Health and Rehab Center. Through high school i have learned to be responsible, focused and hardworking by joining Educational Talent Search. This program offered academic, career, and financial counseling.…

I was a tall skyscraper that was known to the world as World Peace Through Trade. In 1946, the New York Legislature came up with a group called The World Trade Corporation and they developed The World Trade Center in lower Manhattan. In 1958, the World Trade Center Corporations hired three guys named Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill to come up with a design for me. A year later the designs were released to the public. By the time they actually started constructing me it was August of 1968. It only took a few years for them to build me and it was December 23, 1970 when I was finally done being built. I was 1,368 feet tall, making me the world’s tallest building at the time. So many people worked their that the i had my own zip code Many companies came in and used me for space to have offices. Some businesses moved in even before I was done being built to claim their spots. Many workers would bring their children and leave them in the daycare that i had. Not only was I an office building but I had a restaurant on the 107th floor. It was called The Windows of the World. Along with a restaurant I also had a subway that had a stop underground for all the people who either worked in my tower or nearby. There were so many activities you could do besides just working. I had an observation deck for tourists to come and see the…

Five years from now I will be in my last year of college, prepping for medical school. By the end, I hope to have a major in Biomedical Engineering and a minor in Molecular Biology and Chemistry. In the beginning of my senior year in college, I plan to take the MCAT. The goal is to get between a 500-528. I hope to have a 3.7 GPA in college and maintain my CCMA certification along with my CPR certification. My target is to have applied to Emory University, Stanford Medical School, or Cornell for a chance in their medical school programs. Sometime in college my aim is to have traveled to an underdeveloped part of the world. I wish to help those in need by joining Doctors without Borders or contacting a similar organization. I want to help those who are less fortunate and discover the diseases that are plaguing some parts of the…
I believe these courses have taught me a lot more about the world I live in and how to maneuver through it. Also, my Human Services courses have taught me how to work with others and have successful relationships in non conventional environments. I could not have learned these things without attending college and I am so grateful for the…
I have worked hard and believe I can conquer the world. I have a great support system, both in home and so far through CCU. I have learned that life happens. We just need to pick up the pieces and move forward. I have been researching CCU and my major and do believe this is the exact path in which I want to be on. I am so grateful that CCU has given me the opportunity to begin my journey and fulfill my dreams.…
It was great meeting you a few weeks back at the DMars event. Once again congratulations on the success of your restaurant. You probably don’t remember our conversation but I’m interested in one day owning my own restaurant. Are there any actions I can take now to begin the process? I’m a novice and I only cook at home or for friends. Any advice you can offer would be great.…
