It all began as I stepped off the porch of our beach house, I was reached by a beautiful and amazing sight, from which my eyes longed to see.
I felt the sand squish slowly through my toes as I gaily walk down the shoreline of the outer banks. There was a unique shade of green on the land. It was soft but yet silky as I bent to touch it. It smelt herbaceous. The sun stood up confidently and proudly shined its yellow lights unto earth. The sun’s radiant face was mirrored by the shimmering clear blue waves of the sea. Each wave had its own meaning as it washed unto the shores.
There were macaws,
parrots one of a kind chirping and talking as they fled from tree to tree. Later on we saw more birds.
The wind was blowing; the tall coconut trees were swaying and moving to the direction of the wind, as they waved to each other happily and full of excitement.
Alexis later told me as we were walking, that she thought “the wind was a speaking and whistling as a ghost as it went by”. I laughed. I thought so too. She was quite terrified, she grabbed my hand and hid herself behind me. It continued to blow. It was so strong and courageous that we thought it was going to knock us over.
We then quickly spotted a nearby hammock connecting to two trees, which my grandpa had tied earlier in the day. We raced for a spot. As I lied down in the hammock with Alexis, I looked up onto to the vibrant yet soothing sky filled with the contrast and wonders of blue, nothing more was needed.
Today Alexis and I had the best together as we played and explored the nature and the tropics of St. Lucia beach. There was nothing more exciting.
