Back in my middle school years, I was only a person living to please others, such as making good grades to make my parents proud. I would carve out room in my already-crowded schedule to go out of my way to give back to my community. I have so far, completed over fifteen hours of service for Westside Relay for Life from raising money, running 5ks, to raising cancer awareness. Last year, as a junior, I step up to be the Vice President of BETA Club and Secretary for NHS for my senior year. I was selected as a runner-up math star student in the region. I participated in Palmetto Girls State, which matured my leadership and speaking skills. I also went to Gauntlet with my church and my perspective has broadened and sharpened to allow me to see myself as a growing young leader in my community. I have ran track and field for my high school since my sophomore year, earning a varsity letter my first year. Sometimes, the vigorous life on finding a balance between school, sports, active volunteering, and work would throw me off the beam, but I would continue moving forward.
