myself with a carrier of any sort such as a backpack or bag. This is more complex than the square of perfection as it tells me that I want to be disconnected form opinions I hold as they are not what make me. The opinions are what is carried and may be switched out for better, more developed ones as they present themselves. I don’t believe that anyone should be tied to what they believe so as to disregard fact or withdrawal from discussion only to keep what they believe intact.
The idea of being a square is not something which should be taken too literally in the present.
Squares to me represent a perfect type of construction where all is similar and well measured. No part of a square is too emotional, reserved, outspoken, or bland; every aspect is equal. Being perfect as a square is not saying that there is no growth to be done but rather the growth must be in proportion. I have tried to follow that proportion when expanding my worldview so that one aspect of my thought or personality does not fall out of line compared to others. I feel that effort has led to a more comprehensive way of thinking and development which will lead to being a complete individual where people cannot point out an obvious flaw in my character. The presentation of an uneven person will not be an attractive one as he/she will seem forward, eccentric, and possibly occupied outside the current interaction. I have tried to avoid that with my square mentality of being measured in approach and execution of my growth as a …show more content…
person.
Although I have thought of the square for a longer time I have fairly recently realized the more important relation to hold is that to a bag.
This idea of being a bag is in context of opinions and how people, specifically myself, deal with the replacement of outdated opinions. This is most effective when I take a step back to separate myself from the opinions which I hold so that they may be evaluated empirically. A person should not be beholden to what they believe as it does not define you, bad opinions may be replaced with good ones at any time when the circumstances present. The most important part of this association is the realization that I must keep my individual separate from the opinions I carry with me. Those opinions, as I have said before, can and should be replaced when evidence to the contrary is presented. This is a mechanism I use so that I may be right on the issues important to me. To be right I must always be prepared to change my
mind.
A comparison to an object is an easy to way to nail down characteristics to your personality which are often incomprehensible. To bridge the gap between the physical space we all inhabit and the headspace everyone is separate in is imperative to developing an understanding of not just yourself but of others.
