Although some things I wanted to do were not the right things, it showed me the importance of other’s perspectives and how to work with them.
I am unique in the ways that I learn.
I tend to be sort of an adaptive type that will learn from events and make better decisions based on that data. This requires me to be very empathetic at times by know how others feel. I am also unique in the way I get dedicated to something. If I find something I believe in like tennis I will go to the park every day for two or three hours so I can get better. I will put that same dedication in NHS by stepping up. I want to hopefully run for a leadership position next year, granted I get accepted. I do have some experience in that field. In NJHS at Nova Middle I was the president there and I had a great
experience. I am also extremely keen on details, my friends get mad at me when I correct their grammar, and that can serve as an asset by using that to organize. This can simultaneously be a good and bad thing. This makes a very stubborn person when I am arguing. If you ever need someone to win over Ms.Owens I could help with that. I am also a perfectionist. This means that I am very critical of myself but I try to direct it so that I try to make myself better which helps me when doing schoolwork or sports. When I was younger I used to have a real problem with stress to the point that I could not sleep at night but now I have directed that stress into something positive that makes me a better person. I have learned to moderate my time and have time to relax and organize. I also tend to have a one track mind when doing something, sometimes in class I can’t read because so many people are talking. This lets me get things done efficiently but also makes me oblivious to other people which is something I am working on. This could help the club if say the plans for something gets skewed and I could help us back on the right directions. In terms of academic help I am generally well read in most subjects with probably history being my worst with science and math being my best. I could potentially tutor kids who need it and have study sessions with kids in similar classes so we could all learn at the same time. Thank you for considering me as a potential NHS candidate and I hope that this essay taught you more about me more as a person and that this aides you in the selection of the NHS pledges.
