Integrity, respect, and a drive to make the world and people around you are essential parts as well. One of my favorite quotes is “Have the courage to say no. Have the courage to face the truth. Do the right thing because it is right. These are the magic keys to living your life with integrity.” - W. Clement Stone. I try to apply this quote to my life daily. Doing what is right, and facing things that scare you for the greater good are two things that I focus on. Respecting others is a silent way of showing value for others. By listening and encouraging others to share their thoughts, you honor their personal rights. Having a drive to make everything around you better is one of the most important qualities to me. I attempt to help the environment better by volunteering in trash cleanups, reducing my plastic use, and by being vegetarian. I help the people around me by sharing opportunities, explaining hard topics, and by supporting others in their endeavors. I make an effort to be the total student for myself, my peers, and my community. I should be considered for Minnesota Honor Society because I meet, and exceed the qualifications of a member. My personal code of ethics is Equality and Sensibility. I believe in a predictable system that assures the well-being of all, especially those without power, is a just system. As a wife, mother, nurse and a member of a community, I strive to do the best I can in every aspect of my life. As a mother, I strive to be a good role model to my children and teach them the fundamentals of life. I strive to be able to give a solid foundation and an easy path to life whether it be school, finding who they want to be as they grow older and for a productive future. As a nurse, I strive for equality of care for every patient and to be able to be their voice when they are not able to speak for themselves. As a member of the community, I strive to lend a hand for the needy and helpless. I speak for and ask help for them i.e. my neighbor, who leaves alone and has no family to be by her side.…

My personal preferred lens is Rights and Responsibility and Relationship Lens. This means I use my reasoning skills to determine the universal rules that each person should follow and the processes that will ensure fairness and justice for all in the community. My core values are Autonomy/Equality and Rationality. This means for me interdependence is the goal, harmonizing the rights of individuals with the well-being of the community. Personal Ethics Statement

When I start it attending this class I did not have a clue what personal ethics meant, but now after the nine weeks of me attending this class I have learned a lot of new things like the meaning of personal ethics. Now I know that personal ethics is the way in which you do and look at things, in other words it is what you live by and who you are as person and what kind of person you want or would be like. I consider myself a very responsible person for the age of 19. I think I became responsible a little faster than others my age because I started working since I was only 14 years old. I think that when people get their first job they change a little and start becoming more responsible. I consider myself a very strong person. To me being strong doesn’t mean that I can take everything that happens to me. I have had my share of bad times in life but I never let them make me be unhappy I always try to stay strong. I also consider myself a very helpful person. I always try to find a way to help others, but at the same time when I do that I always make sure that I am doing the right thing. What I mean by that is that, I always make sure that if someone needs my help I know that they really needed and that they are not just taking advantage of my kindness. Of course the people I always try to be with and help is my family. My family is a huge part of my life; they come first, before everything and anything. What I am trying to say about myself is that the “Ethical Lenses” I preferred to use the most are the “Responsibilities” and the “Relationship” lenses. One of my weaknesses is that I can get really distracted with the “Responsibilities” lens and for a while forget about friends and family because I am trying to work too hard. Ethics play a big part of your life every day you have to be really careful with the way you act with other and with yourself. It is not good to be a person that…
