When considering my strength in this area, I applied the following assessment questions: Thinking and problem solving; and assessing strategic thinking. On the thinking and problem solving survey I scored 52-points, which was not surprising to this learner. However, one question highlighted an area of growth. The assessment asked: if I follow-up after solutions have been implemented to determine their effectiveness. I have consciously focused on this in recent time. In the past, I was not focused on the effectiveness of my projects; I simply wanted to present the best package. Over the years I realized the importance of an evidence-based approach to my work; which has caused me to pay closer attention to this action.
The assessment’s accuracy of strategic thinking does not accurately represent my application of this skill. The assessment focused on this from an organizational perspective versus an individual perspective; nonetheless, I believe strategic thinking is important to the decision-making and problem solving.

According to the assessment, my job satisfaction is high, but I disagree. The questions asked assess an overall extrinsic satisfaction, which is accurate. My organization does meet my extrinsic needs. However, my intrinsic motivation is fading. I have been with the organization for 16 years and I no longer feel rewarded or challenged by the work. I preparing for a professional change, as my current organization no longer meets my motivational need.
Organizational change. Change is ever present in the world, and I accept that change is will always impact my personal, and professional growth.
