<> - One year ago today, we celebrated the release of the Clean Power Plan, the nation’s most comprehensive effort to protect the environment and reverse climate change. Thanks to that, we can look back on what we have accomplished over the last 365 days:
• Established the first-ever national carbon pollution and toxic air pollution standards for power plants
• Reduced the Federal Government’s greenhouse gas emissions by more than 17%
• Made the largest investment in clean energy in American history
• Permanently protected more than 260 million acres of American public lands
• And so, so much more

can easily make us forget about the bad. Since its unveiling, the Clean Power Plan has been under never-ending attack by Big Polluters – and we need your help!
In February, the Supreme Court voted along partisan lines to halt enforcement of the plan while Big Polluters and their allies fight to overturn the rule in court.
Republicans in Congress try to repeal the rule every chance they get. And Donald Trump has promised to ban it if he ever becomes President. We need someone to speak out in the plan’s defense!

Not only does the Clean Power Plan revolutionize the fight against climate change. By 2030, the plan is expected to reduce smog pollutants by 25%, cut energy bills by almost $100 annually, prevent as many as 150,000 asthma attacks, and create net benefits of up to $93 billion dollars per year.
But Big Polluters aren’t worried about what American families are paying in bills or the air our children are breathing. Profits are too important for them to worry about the consequences of the pollution.
So when they warn about the massive job losses in the fossil fuel industry, they forget to add that the plan will create 20% more renewable energy in America, along with hundreds of thousands of jobs to help these changes take place. We need people like you to help us remind
them!

It’s funny to see many of the states who first fought or continue to fight against the Clean Power Plan are now drafting their strategies to follow through with implementing it in their states. It’s not difficult to see that less carbon pollution, healthier environments, and cleaner air are an economic and health benefit for ALL Americans.
The Clean Power Plan is America’s biggest step in turning the tide against climate change and conserving our environment for future generations. It is also a major signal to the rest of the world of our commitment to stay strong in this fight.
On the heels of the Paris Climate Agreement, nations like the U.S. must lead the way to demonstrate that climate action is not only the right thing to do, but the smart thing to do! Celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Clean Power Plan by standing with the EPA and telling Big Polluters to drop their lawsuit!
