Persuasive Essay On Racism
We must fight discrimination by changing the way we view other races. We must look at the positive sides of everyone, the negatives are just things we think about and are nonexistent. No matter what anyone says, they have more than likely said or at least thought something racist wether it be in traffic, in line, or anywhere. If you think about it, you will realize that racism is just absolutely useless, nothing is accomplished by being racist. Great people are slandered just by the way they look and you miss out on the opportunity to get to know them. Spreading the word that the only difference is the way you look is crucial to ending racism. We are all created the same way, and we are all built the same on the inside. For example, in Desiree’s …show more content…
If other people see that more and more people are being tolerant of all races, they will see that when everyone gets along it has no downsides and that there is no rhyme or reason to be racist and hateful. Just like doing good deeds in one of the older units in Mrs. Hill’s H.N. English two class, people seen someone doing a good deed and wanted to join in themselves and it just kept spreading around. Getting to know someone before judging them is as D.J. Khaled says, a “key to success” in everyones life. Everyone is capable of anything they set their minds to. We all think, learn, and analyze things the same way. So why think that others are less intelligent or less capable just by looking different? There is evidence that all races are able to do anything because there are billionaires, scientists, race car drivers, and astronauts of all races and they are no better than the other. It all comes down to opportunity. So fighting racism is as easy as just changing the way we look and think about other races. We are all made the same, we can all accomplish the same goals, and are just as good as any other race. The ways we think certain races are better than the other are just things we make up in our minds and are in any way, shape, or form beneficial to anyone and only creates more problems. We can come together and save the world by stopping discrimination and

There are countless times in our current events that racism shows through, but people are not successful in stopping it. When a black student was killed by a white cop within the last few years, other black students created a campaign called “Hands up don’t shoot”. Though their intentions were good, like Atticus the students were unable to drastically change anything. Justice can be defended in many ways, but transforming any society’s view is extremely…

Racism is something we've all witnessed and in my opinion is one of the most disgusting and pointless hate crimes out there, and there are quite a lot of hate crimes (Anti-Semitism, Homophobia, Transphobia, Religious Hate, and more.) Race was created socially, primarily by how people perceive ideas and faces we are not quite used to. Racism is basically just a label that has been put on “us” and “them” or “me” (generally speaking) and “you”.…

The problem is that a lot of people do not realize just how beautiful diversity is. They look at it as something negative and that is the mindset that we need to work on changing in order to reduce prejudice. We live in a country that welcome differences and gives people the choice and right to be themselves, and to be proud of where they come from. Personally, I am a very open person to other people and diversity and I embrace it because I feel that we are all different and that is what makes this country beautiful. I have a very diverse group of friends, and I have never judged people based on the color of their skin, but who they are as a person and I try to carry that way of thinking every day of my life. I have a son, and I would never want people to discriminate against him for being Dominican, or ‘brown’, and so I will instill in him the same values my mother and father instilled in me as a child, that I carry with me today. I mean think about it, if we all walked around being told what to do, what to think, and to act the same then we would complain about…

As a criminal justice professor, I am often engaged in conversations about crime in the black community. Many ask the reason so many black men are incarcerated; why are black people less concerned with black on black crime yet overly concerned when a black person is killed by an individual of another race? The questions seem to be neverending, especially during the current uprisings related to the police killings of unarmed black men across America.…

Racism is the hardest one to discuss but I am doing my best to help student to discuss. Also I want to mention something , I want to change their idea about how they can discuss this kind of topic. For example, if you are a white american and you are not racist so I do not have to discuss or talk about any thing that some white people has done in their history. Even though he or she are not racist , he or she belongs to this part. By knowing how to interact with people and learning the history and discussing that in a good why without avoiding talking about it that is a tool that I want to see them using it after they pass this course.…

These are ways that can stop racism because all of these ideas are putting an end to what has allowed racism to become a pandemic in our society. Being a part of the movement is the most important tactic we can use to stop racism. A lot of people nowadays are sitting by waiting for others to start a movement, meanwhile allowing for racism to spread and affect more and more of the population. All that it takes to end racism is a group of leaders that believe everyone is equal and unique in their own way, and a group of people that will always remember that if we were all the same, where would we be…

If someone is not the stereotypical straight, rich, and white person, they are most likely going to experience racism or hate at one point in their life for being “different”. Even worse, the group of people that they classify with is going to experience a hate crime that is directed towards them. A hate crime is motivated by race, sexuality, and other prejudice that involves violence. It is meant to target the victim’s entire group and intimidate them. With all the hate crimes still being committed, there should be more laws for them because it protects the groups targeted, it will make humanity and society view everyone as an equal human being, and gives stricter punishment to the criminals.…

Within our country, I see a number of problems we face on a daily basis. An enormous problem we are facing that is becoming out of hand is the issue of racism. In the past few months, there have been quite a few instances of racism being the cause of death. The case that sticks out the most in my opinion is the Charleston church shooting. A white man entered a historically black church and opened fire, killing nine people, one of whom was a pastor. The man who shot those innocent people was a racist individual who had no respect for his fellow Americans, or for his Lord. He walked inside a place of worship to kill people solely because of the color of their skin. That act of hatred in unacceptable under every circumstance. I fully believe in…

It has been going on for years and years that the hope for it to completely disappear is unrealistic. Racism is a way of feeling and we can’t control everyone’s feelings towards one another. Which just leads to me saying that the racial lines have history on them that will take great measures to disappear. Even if it doesn’t go away we should be comfortable with speaking on the topic of race among each other. Whether we disagree or agree on a matter it’s something we should speak on to get a good understanding on each other and try to lose the hatred. Not every single black or white men is racist but a part of them is prejudice due to past knowledge. Which then goes to show that American history on race does play a role on our social experiences. We may not try to seem racist but everyone hangs around who they feel comfortable with and people are comfortable with people who reflect them. It’s an unnatural injustice that right away people drift towards people who are the same race as them. Which then gives our social history a different story line but using different perspectives from African American and…

Addressing institutional racism, bettering community relations with police and tackling other injustices have become major issues in this year’s presidential campaign, thanks to the Black Lives Matter movement. As a young black man this affects my life and people around me and the presidential debate showed where the presidential candidates are in that position. Throughout world history, governments have violated and ignored the human and civil rights of their citizens. In some instances, they demonstrated this disregard through customs, etiquette, and racial caste systems that denied human dignity and respect. In most cases, in addition to these customs, segregation rules and laws were established.…

Even though people think racism is one attitude in and of itself, it can manifest in many different ways. A racist attitude can lead to brutality, prejudices, and profiling. Racism is something that never should have, and never should be tolerated. Pride in one's heritage is a basic human right that everyone deserves. Racial equality is something that today's society needs to be striving for. To accomplish this, humanity needs to more have mutual respect and empathy for each other. Maybe once this happens, there will be a more peaceful world with less darkness and…

In the months after Barack Obama was sworn in as the 44th president of the United States, 66 percent of Americans told the researchers behind the New York Times /CBS News poll that race relations in the United States were generally good (Maraniss). This was the impact that America was looking for, change. Change in a sense that the hope for all minorities no matter what race, color, or ethnicity would be treated as equals. This election did spark that sense of hope, but the race relations in the U.S. did not continue to strive like they did for a short period after Obamas first election.…
